Wow, I stray and wander all over you tube and then find Max again and wonder why the hell I should bother looking elsewhere. What an incredible gift to jazz he is. Perfect mix of tradition and modern playing with a big warm welcoming tone. I've said enough ... enough said!!!!

I enjoy Maxs playing he does not lose the melody like so many other over exposed horn players in the Brecker idiom. Bob Reynolds is another with the relaxed style i appreciate. All the best from an aged tenor player in England, keep well!

Dear Max, with this recording, your quartet has once again given an example that improvising can still be done in a completely new and contemporary way using these old standards. Everything is far from being said about the form of these standards. That is what makes art. I like Luca, on the piano, very, very much. Unfortunately it is a little too low on his solo.

About the sound of the piano, unfortunately, this time we had to keep the distances while recording and as usual, I used only a microphone. Next time I'll be more careful. :-)
