BIG POWER 1/5 tyres???????

Big power 2 stroke or brushless setup on your 1/5 scale????
Tyres and keeping them on the rims is a big problem. Std beadlock setups just don't work as you can see from the 1st clip ( as they are standard losi 5t wheels and tyres getting blown to bits.)
here are some options and possible glueing methods to try.... Future vids will show the results....
BRP's.... widely considered the only option....
glueing and taping std style wheels or using
light weight dish mcd style wheels and tyres (that the racers use)...

Cool vid brah. Pro tip: Gorrilaglue is moisture curing. If you mist water lightly on the insides and on the foams you will get more even and secure adhesions.

For dragonhammer wheels sell steel braces. Rubber can inflate, but will not tear. These braces fit all the other wheels from LOSI and Baja.

i still remember that my fg stadium stock wheels and tyres had factory holes in them both wheels and tyres i guess to relieve the air pressure build up under high rpms... on random spots.. and i never blew up a tyre even i had raised the stock 26cc zenoah to ESP Championship Ported GP290 36mm kit and jetpro silenced pipe..

BRPs are the way! No question about it, it's the Highest peak in Wheel/Tire application, hands down. YOU GOT THAT RIGHT MATE! :)

Hi Joel I have a full set of BRPs bought a few weeks ago from Mike. I think they're 190's. I bought them for my Losi 5T but I'm only running a G320RC full mod motor so these feel a little over kill. They would be prefect for your 50. They're immaculate, happy to do a deal. Let me know

Big power requires a locker only for the center diff and a million weight in rear or locked only (is the preferred)! That’s the only success without all the extra stuff because you will definitely blow a tire when that power transfer to that 1 wheel that breaks traction or just free spinning when it leaves the ground!

You should give 3M 5200 Fast Cure a try, it takes 24hrs to fully cure but it's NOT coming apart. Good luck keeping them together and keep making some great videos👍👍

Very interesting little show and tell, I have not blown any tyres with my 5ive-T with Frank Finlay evo 40 RC engine, I am awaiting delivery of an Kraken-RC KV5TT a.r.t.r with a RCMax GT50cc with all the other parts selected to go with it has kicked it upto £4K plus and will still need to add some parts, not cheap and tyre's I am still researching what to use. Now with my LOSI 5ive-T I am running Silverback 5imian wheels, Area-RC alloy outer beadlock's, King Motor alloy inner beadlock's and Silverback beadlock screw's, with Hostile belted inner foam's and Area-RC belted radial tyres and no blowout's I have three sets of these from RCModelz, I will be trying them on the KV5TT. Like you I really do not like the BRP they remind me of the press on solid tyres for forklift's. they do not look scale and I am into keeping it looking like the real ones out there doing Baja or Short Course truck's and buggies. RCModelz still stock them so I will be getting a set for the RC4WD Raceline Monster alloy beadlock wheels, wheels well balanced out of the box, you do need to balance any wheel because of the imbalance of the tyres. I am not sure how much more powerful the RCMax 50 is compared to my EVo40RC motor, so not sure how well everything will hold up, already selling stuff to get another 50cc GT engine for my VEKTA-5 which is running an OBR34cc Full Mod and feel it may be lacking in the power department. What made you chose the ALX over the RCMax 50cc, I prefered the RCMax over any other because it is a UK company and Mike out of all the big cc engine builder's because he is more passionate than any other I spoke to and I phoned and spoke to them all regardless of country and cost. You know we should talk over a phone or perhaps meet although I am in north Cornwall could do airbnb lol What has happened to your oppo Steve it was I think. Yeah I know it is long I hope you get to read it would like feedback on the motor and the tyre issues, thought I was going to get to Bashfest this year but too much happening around me this year. nice 1 mate. alx over rcmax was purely the circle i was involved in at the time. my mates ran alx so that's the advice i got i guess. Rcmax are stunning motors mate. both brands have their pros and cons like anything. I have got to know RCMAX mike over time and i agree, he has loads of passion and his motors and work show this big time. tyres wise its all down to experimentation and what suits you and your car/ driving style. I have recently switched to BRP spikes for my alx as a friend was selling them at a good price hardly used. They have enabled me to finally give the car a proper thrash without even being concerned about tyre blow outs, which was a good feeling. My gorilla glued mad max's did hold up though. next time out ill try going mad with them and see if they can take it. i'm moving house thursday myself! squeezed bashfest in but any vids from it may take a while.... hahahaha good luck w your stuff

So whats the sence of driving 45 - 50 ccm engines If the tires dont Last. Just drive 30 - 35 ccm and have fun :) and No need to worry about tires.

Speaking of rc max, your channel used to be called something else back in the day was is Sam and max rc ( or something similar ). Bet you’d wished you kept it to save the confusion. You still got the old thunder tiger that you modded with innovative parts, miss my mt4 g3 , guess we all move on to 5th scale in the end.

The MCDs will blow out, I've seen racers blow them out/shred them. They are great tyres though.

Hi mate, yes i have a feeling you are right. 1 of the guys has been running some elcon glued tyres for a while on his 50/ 40 with good results but they do look tougher than these astro max. i will give them a try anyway as they give great grip and as u say great tyres ( got them for my losi 5b to be fair ;)

All tires ar enyhow made for 23 to 29 ccm engines. Old 1990 Style :) some company should make stronger tires today. At Shops they writhe that the clue will not Last and you must re-clue the tires from time to time.
