I'm really just blown away at the maturity in his playing. Such amazing use of staccatos in his phrasing and the creative additions of pick scrapes, rakes, and palm mutes. Really mature playing even if he wasn't blindingly fast whenever he wants to be. So much creativity and skill in such a young player. I'm really looking forward to what he does over the coming years!

Absolutely agree with you.... He has proven he can easily play outstandingly well tunes from well known rock shredders as Paul Gilbert, Yngwie and many others... but listening to this demonstrates a maturity way beyond pure shredding... I guess he will dive more into jazz in the near future... he will develop into an even bigger monster very soon...

Those broken up staccato lines are so crazy right?! I feel like people really don’t understand how rhythmically demanding that actually is. I’m mean I can legato all day now after years of practice but staccato o still struggle with at those higher speeds.

Just scanning through the first few of 800 comments below, the most palpable emotion seems to be fear, albeit dressed up as admiration. I recognise this because I've been down that typical guitar-player's road where everything is a competition and has precious little to do with music. Max Ostro is an absolute prodigy, there is no denying that, because he is so very young. In future years he might also develop into a mature and rounded musician. But let's not be afraid. Technical learning is worthless if it's learn by a deaf practicer ^^ Then, when we talk about acuracy, speed, there's no real generalities. With a same working, in 5 years, two guitarists will not be equal at the end. There is also the motivation aspect to observe ! Globaly, quality of hearing is everything. The rest come naturally. If you like the shredding, you will pass your time go slowly, and go faster by a 2 BPM increment to listen to you closely and sound good. If you like open sounds, spacefull, you will pass your time manipulate your effects etc. There's no rush, no 2 hours a day, no "5 years challenge". Playing guitar is a pure joy. If it's a joy just 1h a week, so enjoy fully this hour and you will progress. If it's a joy 12h a day, everyday, ok you probably going to progress faster, but it has to be a full joy as well ! Ehm no... Dude has no jazz chops and vocabulary at all. A rock player with a clean robotic technique but no musicality. A inferior wannabe guthrie govan but without the musicality of govan. He isnt even in the same realm and based on his phrasing he never will be. His fanboys obviously dont even understand jazz and just see "wow he plays so fast and his technique for his age... He must be the new guthrie govan". Lol, but they dont even understand guthries playing. Type in "guthrie govan spain balawan" and see how its done. This is a disgrace to chick coreas spain. Just a little rocker boy trying to be like guthrie amd trying to play jazz.

I'm new here. This is probably the 5th of your vids I've seen. You are absolutely amazingly talented. Straight to my top 5 players ever.
