This video is off somehow, 90 mph is about .4 seconds hand to glove. The glove pop is almost instantaneous and it looks to get on the hitter way too quickly.

HELL OF AN ARM! When I was this age there was a kid in our league throwing 96-98 mph regularly. It was just a 16 game short season for those who want to pay to be in a league. NOBODY could hit this kid at all. No team in the league could catch the timing on that heat. Most were afraid to stand in there with that kind of missile headed straight over the plate. So I noticed he put the ball in the same spot over the plate every single time. He also had no second pitch to mix it up. So I went to our coach and said who cares how cowardly it is but a win is a win. So we stepped in the batters box and bunted the ball in the air over the 1st baseman's head Everytime. They brought the right fielder in close enough to throw us out so we mixed it up between batters. Bunting over 2nd base, over 3rd base, over first base, over short stop and so on. And not long after that we all picked up on his timing. I'll never forget the look on his face the first time I didn't bunt but took a hell of a rip at the ball and put it deep over right/center field. He was stunned. Bases loaded too. We had a great team. This one pitcher throwing rockets cost us the championship 2 years in a row. But our pitchers were good too just not 96-98mph. Our guys had unbelievable curve balls, sliders, and pitched just out of the zone cathing them chasing. So anywhere from 70-85 mph is where our pitchers averaged. So when we lose the championship it was games we lost 1-0. Then we began winning anywhere between 3 to 6 points to their 0,1 occasionally or the one time they got 2 on us but point being we won the Championship 3 years in a row then 3 more in a row when I aged out, so 6 years in a row our team was Champs, So never goof on a bunt. It helped us not only start winning 1 out of 2 vs. this pitcher to learning his timing and never losing to him again. The bunt can be a monster in many ways. The opposing pitchers flaw was not having any other pitches to throw, and always putting his pitch in the exact same location in the strike zone. If he just had a secondary pitch or backup guys. Their coach was one of those guys who thought heat was the only pitch that mattered or was needed. Had zero care in keeping the batters guessing and off balance. I was told by my coach 15 years later that the other coach asked him why we used a game plan with nothing but bunts? Our coach said the guy turned red as a berry when he learned it was a 13 year old boys game plan to put men on base and learn his timing and then start swinging away once we learned it. Coach said he looked like he was going to stroke out on the spot. Man I enjoyed those years. Good fun.

I was in highschool when i first saw 94 and when you go from 85~ average with a few 89-91 pitchers that 94 seems like a bullet and all you are thinking is "dont hit me in the face please"

He was terrified in that box. Bro was stepping out during the release. I feel it tho. I was a really good hitter until I got plucked on my upper back by a kid who COULD throw 90, not saying the pitch was, but I played scared after that. Same thing with football. Was a great player until i met my match, seen them stars for the first time and played scared after that. I had the talent but not the hunger and was an over thinker😂 I was never willing to sacrifice my body and HATED pain. Just didnt have that mamba mentality. I was NOT a honey badger. Just athletic as hell🤷🏾♂️😂

For people who’ve never played baseball at high level or even stepped into the batters box… you really have no idea how fucking close 60 ft 6 inches is… especially when the pitchers tall by the time the balls released it genuinely looks like the pitcher is letting it go like 30 ft from you lmao
@doynavonkeith98477 ай бұрын
as someone that has been in a bowling, football and basketball league for a total of 15 years, i can confidently say i will never touch that ball😂 id say im above average skill wise in basketball and football but for some reason baseball, golf and basically anything with a paddle, i am terrible at. you'd think i never played a sport a day in my life if you saw me on the baseball field😂
@Lucky-sh1dm7 ай бұрын
@@doynavonkeith9847 haha brother no shame in it at all! Baseball is just genuinely one of those sports you HAVE to start young. Learning the fundamentals of a good swing and good arm action is an enigma if you don’t have it down by like age 10-11

Baseball is definitely one of the hardest sports playing at a high level.
@willpelfrey11577 ай бұрын
I can absolutely agree 💯 with this! Usually at 85mph and up it literally looks like a baby aspirin coming in. Baseball is the only sport where you can fail 7/10 and be considered a HOF 😂

@@doynavonkeith9847I played baseball till freshman year. I wasn’t the best or anything but was good enough to play somewhat at a high level. It wasn’t much longer after I stopped baseball that I attempted to hit a ball again. I embarrassed myself. I don’t know how I did it in my youth. If you get a hit 3-10 times in the league, you’re going to the HoF
