Minecraft Bedrock - How To Get Tools That Break Blocks & Blocks That Can Be Placed In Adventure Mode

A lot of people get the error “component can destroy cant be updated” This is because the item ID you used doesn't exist in the bedrock version of the game, for example if you want a pickaxe to break oak logs and try: /give @p diamond_pickaxe 1 0 {"minecraft:can_destroy":{"blocks":["oak_log"]}} it will not work, instead you have to use: /give @p diamond_pickaxe 1 0 {"minecraft:can_destroy":{"blocks":["log"]}} The pickaxe will then be able to destroy all 4 log types with ID log. I don't know of a way you can specify one type of log, or wool or any other block like this!

This will be helpful for me because I make a spooky Minecraft escape room for my friends every Halloween, and although they are pretty good at following rules like “buttons and levers can only be placed on emerald blocks”, it would be nice for it to actually be impossible for them to place/break any other blocks than the target one.

I'm having trouble, is there a specific way you have to do the command so that blocks that are normally indestructible can be broken? Asking for a realm I own that uses unobtainable blocks, this would open up a lot of possibilities on it. Thanks! That's not possible in Bedrock edition... sorry. In Java Edition you can specify which type of stone brick, but not in Bedrock.

It has to do with the item you added, it's probably a specific log, or some specific color, but on bedrock edition you can't choose a specific block

Yeah, there is no way to keep the data when it is placed down, so you would need some sort of reset button

I don't think there is a good way to do that in bedrock edition, best you could do is add a reset button or something like that, where it clears the players inventory and gives back the items
