What if in the week 1 the forecast or customer req is more than the inventory on hand ? Do we suffer the lost sales or do we order on week 1 itself ?

It is wrong, in week 2 projected on hand qty must be 3 not 2.

We are taking the higher demand between 'forecast' and 'customer orders booked'. Since in week 2, customer orders booked is higher, the onhand becomes 18-16 = 2. Hope this clarifies.
