Thanks! I appreciate your feedback. I simply saw a need for students to have concepts like this simplified. My process is time consuming, but in the end it's worth it. Thanks again.

The example at 8:16 the production planning on the second table is not aligned with the first one. It seems reflecting the customer orders but not the the scheduled production

Thanks. That was the intent with this video; to reflect customer orders only. The MPS can look very different based on the organization and the products involved. Good call out though.

Brilliant. Thank you so much. I have a question though, in some other videos the available to promise row is not included. They have the others though. Can this cause any issues?
@drdhaywood

Thanks, Analise. To answer your question, ATP should only be included in finished goods inventory. Raw materials should not have ATP because the company will use that inventory in production and will not sell it directly to customers. It also depends on the company and if they choose to use ATP as an inventory perimeter in their inventory management system. As long as they are consistent, it shouldn't be a problem, but having it in on place and not another it possible could cause issues. I hope this helps.

Question, how is the MPS considered short term?
@drdhaywood
@drdhaywood Жыл бұрын
The MPS will vary based on the organization and the products they produce. The time bucket on the MPS can be very short (hours, days, or weeks). This is why it is considered short term. Hope this helps.

I feel this is not explained clearly. As I don't see where have you use dependent and independent. Where have you used outputs from aggregate planning in master production schedule.

Looks like you are looking for a more detailed video. The purpose of this video is to explain how the MPS works for beginners.
