Maxview Remora 40 - Setup and Demo

Young Tourers have been lucky enough to team up with Caravan Magazine and Maxview to try out some brand new products. In this video, we show you how to set up and use the brand new Maxview Remora 40, a super portable and easy to use 40cm satellite system, perfect for getting that quality picture where ever you are in the UK. Karl gives us a great demonstration using his 2018 Buccaneer Barracuda, which comes as standard with a whopping 32’’ Avtex series 9 TV, a great companion for the Remora 40!

We also bought the dish, haven’t used it in the van yet. But I have set it up at home. I used the settings as advised in the instructions. Don’t forget to tune the LMB. I also had some initial difficulty, I used a Humax receiver. Initially without any success, only getting a no signal message. After a bit of Internet research I then registered for free stat, this allowed me to kink the Humax receiver to my account. As soon as I did this everything worked fine. I also used a sat finder app to check the precise angle and compass bearing. So I would advise initially setting up at home where you can connect to your internet router and register the kit.

Hi just purchased the same dish myself, tried it with the van outside the house . Two things, 1)obviously satellite dishes work by line of sight so any obstruction i.e. your house or trees will restrict or obstruct the signal ( as our lnb arm on our house dish seems almost parallel to the floor !) so could not get a signal at all. 2) If you are in Europe the satellite is mounted in the southern sky so the dish needs to point south ( not that easy if your van is not pointing in the right direction to enable this if there is not enough adjustment due the positioning of your van ? I will be trying it soon in a more open space soon so looking forward to an easy set like you suggest. Enjoyed your video very useful ATB

Hi, great vid. You make it look so simple and quick. So how have you got on with it over a little time. Is it as easy every time and receive a good signal. Seriously thinking of buying one based upon your original video. Cheers John & Al.

Hi , ended up returning my dish as in a good open area I still could not get a picture even though I was convinced it pointed due south as per instructions and had the elevation correct ? So frustrating so I returned it and had a refund of my £120 ! Some you win.....

In your "premium" van you have satellite connection? In our entry level budget Adria we had the same connections. Don't believe what the salesmen tell you. The wiring is standard. Oh, and our van was a 2014 model.
