I am confused, at 15:21 you say the sommation of dni equals to 0 because n doesn't change, yet at 20:04 you say it cannot be equal to 0. What is the thing I am missing here?
@advancedchemistr5 жыл бұрын
I told that individual dni ie dn1 dn2 and so on not equal to zero. Sumation dni is always equal to zero. Apologies for delay in reply

Sir, I am confused because at 19:38 you said that dni can not be zero, while in another lecture video ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/aouYpnyNo9Wmfpom49s ) the lecturer says that dni is equal to zero. It makes more sense to me that dni can NOT be zero in order to further solve the remaining equation (ln(ni + a + B x Ei = 0). However, the other lecturer's explanation about why dni MUST be zero (his explanation is at 4:49) also makes sense to me but prevents me from being able to further solve the equation since it that case, the remaining equation (ln(ni) + a + B x Ei) does not have to be zero since it is multiplied by dni which is already zero. Some clarification on this would be greatly appreciated.

Well no need to get confused. Let me clarify. In MB we can take particles from any energy level and put it in any energy level. That means i can take 10 particles from n1 and put it in n2 and n3. In that case dn1 , dn2 and dn3 are not equal to zero. But when you sumation them ie dn1+dn2+dn3 then it is equal to zero. So sumation of dni is equal to zero but individual dn1, dn2 and so on are not equal to zero. Hope that clarifies your doubt.
@johnguirguis83956 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for your answer Sir. I think I got confused because the other lecturer wrote down that dni = 0 instead of the summation of dni being zero.

Sir, I have a couple of other questions regarding the permutations formula at 6:41, if you don't mind. 1. You explained that the maximum amount of permutations can be derived by differentiating and solving for 0. However, I can already see from the permutations formula that the maximum amount of possible permutations is when there is only 1 molecule at each energy level (the denominator of the formula is then 1). If the energy levels don't have to differ too much from each other, why can't the maximum be reasoned this way? 2. I have learned that translational kinetic energy is continuous and does not have discrete energy levels. Therefore, translational kinetic energy should have an unlimited number of energy levels within any range. How is it then possible to use a limited number of energy levels and calculate a limited number of possible permutations for deriving the MB Distribution of translational kinetic energy?

You Just say that (Sum) dni is ZERO because Sum( dni) is the total number of particles and hence a constant.... then why isn't (sum) Lnni dni is Not zero?

Boltzmann Distribution Hey Guys does this model look like it might describe what in your lecture? Thanks for your well produced video. Your viewers might enjoy seeing my personal amateur science project. Sorry if it’s not a well produced video I need to do better. It might be a good visual aid that the math describes. See the sheet of spring-like material buckled from the ends to form a Gaussian curve. The area under the curve represents the energy in the system. The sheet of material represents a field with the ends bounded. Seeing the mechanical effect may takes some of the mystery of what the math for your students. See the load verse deflection graph in the white paper found elsewhere on my KZbin channel. kzbin.info/www/bejne/raOlpKSfepWpfZYsi=waT8lY2iX-wJdjO3

Because whenever we learn even a single topic/subject/art from a person, then that person becomes our teacher. And we always address our teachers as "Sir" or "Ma'am", and not as "Teacher".
