@Replenica Maxwell's re-entry into the game was based on an album that totally went against the grain of the industry. After a seven year hiatus during which he proffered no new music; basically fell off the edge of the world; he wrote & produced a pure R&B/Soul album with LIVE instrumentation and no featured artists. In an age of commercialized Hip Hop, Pop & so-called R&B that was MONUMENTALLY brave and bold. Give props because he pretty much resuscitated a genre that was on life support.

@Replenica I do know all of Max's b-sides and rarities. Yes, he is rebranding the name but also his music. BLACK is a very stripped down album and it reminds me of the soul genre during the sixties. He is reinventing that genre, with a little more up tempo instrumentation and urban vibe. You love Embrya and it is brilliant. I consider it to be pure undiluted desire but BLACK is the more emotionally raw album. You might think it is "soft" but we will have to agree to disagree on that point.
