As a fan, it's hard to not let emotion get to you on the situation with Carr. Felt it was handled poorly. Can only imagine how his actual teammates feel, Crosby obviously sharing some of our thoughts. Raiders had many issues over Carr's career there and I think he did alright with what he was dealt. Really hope he shines somewhere else and gets that shot at a Superbowl.

There are very very few sports franchises (think LA Lakers) who know how to treat their stars. There is a way to run “a business” aka win championships, while still remaining loyal to your guys. The Raiders hired the wrong coach. We all know that. Instead of moving off him, they’re moving off their franchise QB because he don’t fit the system. The Raiders franchise was beginning to build a perennial contender in the late 90s, early 2000s when Gruden took the helm. They made it to back to back AFC Divisional round games, but lost both times. The second loss was the Tuck Rule game, where Tom Brady, who had replaced Bledsoe early in the season, lead the Patriots to a superbowl berth in 2001. In Feb of 2002, AL Davis traded Gruden to the TB Buccaneers. The Raiders and Bucs eventually met in the Superbowl the following season, Jan 2003. The Buccaneers absolutely demolished the Raiders 48-21. The franchise never recovered and has been soul searching for the last two decades.
