Thanks for the vid! Repaired mine with the same part, but my fan was bit older and a spring mechanism on the arm attached to the lifter. I just took the spring off and mounted to new piece as there is a hole to bolt it in the same spot. Works great.

I have electric fan in the living room and a manual one in the bathroom, the knob that makes the lid open on the interior keeps spinning and won’t lift a cover anymore or close it

Can you use the fan, when you have rv ac going? Seems you are pumping cool air out? It’s just freaking hot out, don’t think pulling hot air isn’t the ticket.? Brian

So we will use ours to pull out air out when we arrive somewhere. Turn the air on, cold air falls toward the floor, and turn the fan on until the hot air, which rises, has been pulled out of the camper. If you let it run too long though, it will begin to pull the cold air out. You just have to balance it so you don't let too much cold air out. I hope this helps ~Wilson

You might have diagnosed our problem. When the fan opens and closes, it goes all the way up and all the way down, but the motor keeps going as if it hasn't sensed that the lid is completely open or closed. It goes, "Clunk, clunk, clunk x 10" until it finally stops. All the while the black knob in the inside keeps going around and around until the clunking stops. I wonder if one of those left arms has slipped out or that piece is broken? Time to get out the ladder!

Probably the mechanism, like ours. It just slips and slips and turns and turns. You’ll see the cracks in the plastic if that’s the issue. I hope this helps and good luck! ~Wilson

@@OnTheMewve Spot on! That's exactly what was going on. I'll be ordering the part today. On top of that, we have to pull the fuse every time we want to use it. As nice as it is, it is definitely aggravating.

After replacing the mechanism for the max air fan, my lid won't close all the way down. the piece will only fit one way and I'm stumped as to why it won't close. Any suggestions? My part looks just like yours. I have a 2019 Jayco Pinnacle 5th wheel.

found the problem!!! make sure the mechanical lift is in the complete closed position by turn in the gear counterclockwise. this makes the arms in the down position and will allow the vent to completely close.
