Thanks for the review. Did you air them down for the snow?
@filmmoving5633 жыл бұрын
Here I didn't do it. It's an occasional snow spot. It is possible to ride on the spring dense snow. But in the soft snow the space between knobs are very easily get filled by snow and it makes very bad grip. On the snow I use Schwalbe Nobby Nic they has big knobs and very good in winter conditions. I usually do around 14psi.

How flimsy are the side walls.. I noticed you were able to put them on with out having to use a tire lever.. would the take a decent amount of side wall punishment rocks/goat heads/etc.
@filmmoving5633 жыл бұрын
The sidewalls are very tough and thick. I was riding on sharp rocks with low pressure in Israel. You can see how it works there in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqOtpWWbeJ1jbq8 Despite having thick walls it's very pliable and with low pressure is very good. After more than 5K km the side walls has almost no tear&wear, even though I'm riding very often with low pressure. I dismount it with one tyre lever and mount without one. In spite of riding this tyres with tubes I had only 2 punctures and only in Israel on a very thorny trails. This is an obvious reason to use it tubeless. Except for those two punctures, there's no more tyre damage. For the comparision the WTB Ranger Tough with the same use had been punctured many times and even had been torn on broken bricks. The Chronicles are really tough thus they aren't light weight)

What size rims are you using for these tires please?
@filmmoving5634 жыл бұрын
It's 40mm inner width. I'm using it with tubes, so they are not full size in my case. When they're installed it was 73mm /2,87". After a few thousand kilometres it became 75mm/2,95". If you install them tubeless, their width become 78mm/3,07" (at least that's what people say). Also we installed this tires on 37mm rim, and it was no problem, working perfectly. I'm still using them, and it's my favourite tires for front and rear wheels. Right now we returned from a 400km trip with mixed surfaces: pavement, sand, 60km of grader roads and it's been perfect. Also I've got Nobby Nic 3.0" for more grip during winter rides.

What is the size of the inner tube that can fit in, in that tire???
@filmmoving5633 жыл бұрын
Schwalbe tubes fit in, size 650B, 27.5", 27.5+ (freeride, extralight). Weight ~210g. On the package said from 2.10 to 3.0. This is very light tubes, if you're planning to ride on low presure, they're tending to get worn out quickly because of their lightness. Sometimes it can worn out within a few months, sometimes it's good for a year and more. For the plus tyres the most important is it width, some people use smaller tubes as 26", but 2.8-3.0 to reduce weight of the tyres.

@filmmoving563 Жыл бұрын
