I randomly mention at 12:12 garlic comes out in the next 4-5 weeks. Its actually closer to 3-4 weeks. Ive averaged around the 2nd week of june! Last year was a week earlier! We shall see how this year goes! Thinking it will be close to mid june! But just wanted to correct that! Look for the bottom 1/2 of your leaves to die back and that's a good indicator its time to pull!

Great video! The way to get ahead of the squash vine borer is to cover the vines as they grow with soil, or compost or mulch, especially at the leaf nodes, where the leaf stem meets the vine. You don't have to cover with much. It will do two things - it will prevent the vine borer moth from laying eggs there, and also, at the leaf nodes, the vine will sprout new roots fairly quickly. So if the base of the plant got attacked by a vine borer, the rest of the plant will be fine, due to the new roots. It really works.

I love your videos so much. You inspire me to want to give gardening a fair chance. Recent stay-at-home mom lifestyle has been a big shock and I hope to establish a garden that not only feeds my family, teaches my kids about growing thing, but also gives me something for myself each day. Thank you, Bre!

This was my first year growing my own sweet potato slips as well and it took about 6 weeks for me to start harvesting them to place in water for root development. Last year I purchased slips but I am so happy to have had success. It’s much easier then I thought. Plus it was hard to find my desired organic variety in slips so buying the actual potato from the grocery store and starting my own is definitely most cost efficient!

My strawberries are much smaller than yours and I’m thinking the reason why is because they are overcrowded. The reason I am coming to this conclusion is because I had a couple take root outside my bed last fall and those are much bigger than the ones in the bed. I think it’s getting too hot to try and thin them out now, but I plan to do that in the fall and see if that helps for next year. 🤞 Love your videos by the way! We are almost neighbors, but I’m just enough north of you to be a different zone - which means I can watch your video and follow right behind you - thanks!🙂
