I couldn't watch the livestream Wednesday and am just getting to the replay, but I'll answer asynchronously. I first attempted Chesterton (The Everlasting Man) soon after converting in the 1980s. "I could not get into it" puts it mildly; I did not like it. So much so that later in doing a PhD in Anglo-Saxon history a decade later, The Ballad of the White Horse was recommended to me, but memories of my past exposure to GKC kept me from even looking at it, to my bleatedly lasting regret. It was actually a couple more decades later when a friend mentioned he was reading Orthodoxy for Lent and I decided to give him another try. Orthodoxy led me to Heretics, then I took on The Everlasting Man again and was totally blown away. Then I read White Horse and was blown away again.

Love the book club! By the way, this KZbin link is nearly impossible to find even on the Society of Gilbert Keith Chesterton YT channel (other than an odd episode or two - one was only a short of this week's episode). The only way I could link to it was through my email, but if I want others to watch an episode or two it's really hard to find. Thanks! Love to all!
