May 22nd Ram 2500 in a mud hole

May 22nd 2021, a team of 5 from Colorado 4x4 Rescue and Recovery went up in the Pingree Park area to retrieve a Ram 2500 Cummins from a super soft mud hole.
We are in full spring melt mode here and there are little springs popping up all over the forest this time of year making roads that are normally passable extremely soft in spots.
Our first attempt at pulling with just two vehicles running 2:1 winch reduction yielded both rigs being pulled forward as the stuck truck exceeded the weight of the two power wagons (approximately 9000 pounds curb weight).
After anchoring both vehicles to two more, the stuck 2500 was eased right out of the hole. We assisted the owner in clearing the brakes of debris while he worked on clearing the easy to get mud from under the truck, and the mission was complete!

Great rescue! Maybe you could bring a 2 gallon garden pump sprayer to wash off those rotors - a more efficient use of the water. Just a thought.

Clipboards with Forms! Paperwork is Endless! That looked like a really nasty and deep Mud hole! By the way, the comment about "auto-park", give me a Good old CJ! Preferably a flat head flat fender! By the way, good Work! Hope I never need you, but good to know there are people who care!

the new vehicles sure are nice... but the government control nannies in them get quite annoying!

Winchfest 2021 !!! (Sound the horns) … The heavier the truck, the deeper the stuck … proper self recovery gear is on order … right?! At least that person was smart and dug drainage to aid the recovery effort … now for the trail repair to remove those ruts that will hang up the less prepared folks to follow!

that area is so soft right now that repairs are pretty much not possible at the moment. gonna have to dry out a bit first. you can't even walk on that stuff without sinking.
