On the bench today is a Karcher GC160 5.0 HP Honda Power Washer with a carb that was cleaned and now reinstalled with the correct gasket order and carb assembly using a ratchet strap to help the procedure.

Sir, your ratchet-strap method is a life-saver! Same with the linkage instructions you provide at the beginning. This tip explained why my choke had been wonky ever since replacing the carb a year or so ago. Honestly, I was starting to strongly consider replacing this old Karcher (same model as you're working on), as getting the entire assembly back together was proving maddening enough that'd I'd spent well into the evening with no success. She was headed for the curb had it not been for Mr. ratchet strap... You ROCK, my man! Thanks, again!

I took my carburetor off and could not remember the connection springs. Your video was super close so I could see the connections. Thank you

I struggled with reassembling my carb on the exact same model. Your using a racheting belt assembly is a GREAT idea. I saved this video for future reference, as I know I'll be working on same carb in the future. Thanks for sharing.

Outstanding! I have the same piece of equipment you just worked on. It hasn’t been right since I took the carburetor off for cleaning. It runs, but not properly. Now I know how to get it straightened out. Thanks.

If you lay the gaskets out on a piece of paper or cardboard n spray them with some 3M high strength spray adhesive a very light spray will hold them in place without damaging the gasket

Did you unclog the main jet by removing the head screw? If you unclog it under the screw, it'll get rid of the surging, which I noticed when you had it on high idle, the engine was surging up and down or hunting. It's better known as.

not sure, but ya it was surging for sure!!

Great video bud. Super helpful to me. I had 1 question tho. On the first set of gaskets. Do both gaskets on the breather side, front and back of bracket that hold the choak have the the additional ports on both gaskets? 🤦♂️ I hope I'm describing it well enough. Lol the only gaskets sets I can find only have 1 gasket that has those additional ports on each side.

The small hole? Yes both gaskets have a small port hole to match the hole in the choke bracket. Poke a hole in whatever you have, does not matter that much. I've seen 'em in every wrong position possible and the machine still runs!! So long as your carb is clean!!
@letsgoooo80063 жыл бұрын
@@RidgePowerEquipment Not the little single hole but the 2 included on each side of the carb opening. Like half circles on each side of main opening. I just ordered a kit that had 2 of those gaskets. Was the ONLY kit I could find with 2 of those gaskets. I really appreciate the help man. 👍👍👍

@@letsgoooo8006 I know what you mean now, those gaskets do have the small indents, if you don't have the exact, no big deal, "it ain't the space shuttle"

Should not matter. Check the oil level.

When you make a video next time... Don't try to talk to us. Just do the work. The go back and edit out the sound and talk over what you are doing off camera. Much faster and easier.

You called it a "motor", if gas it's an engine, if electric it's a motor. Disassembly/reassembly much easier if gas tank removed. Reassembly much faster/easier when a gasket adhesive is used to locate and hold the gaskets in place during assembly. The black polymer part that attaches between the engine and carburetor is a thermal insulator that also serves to reduce the fuel flow velocity entering the engine. Many of the GC160 series do not use a metal guard plate, but an oversized gasket that doubles as a guard. Also, whenever carburetor removal is performed, it's advisable to check the speed governor for proper setting. And a better explanation of the proper gasket placement would have enhanced the video. Otherwise, nice try.

Motor, engine who cares. I make a video once in a while for fun on what I do. You are the pro, so go make a video on this engine and show me your way. If you think it is better, prove it. If it is I will try it.

So I guess people who have a motorcycle are wrong it's an engine cycle.
