I plan on going to Grandfather Mountain for the first time but I'm not that great of a driver and afraid of heights. If I veer off can we ACTUALLY die from the height or will the trees and boulders block us?

Grandfather Mountain is near Linville about 55 mi. NE of Mt. Mitchell (about 1.5 hrs). You can read about GM State Park by Googling North Carolina State Parks. Note: the state park and swinging bridge attraction are separate. The park is the backcountry of the Mountain. We have hiking trails and backpack camping. You can find our park map on the website. IN THE MEMORY OF ARTHUR GU7TAR BOOGIE S M I T H (the 7 came unintentionally ..) - who used to perform @ the loc w the scenery in the backgnd. The 35 or so lp artist even released 1 (on Dot) called SINGIN ON THE MOUNTAIN. I have that 1 + some 15 others. DOC WATSON is also part of the region s LEGACY, bp Deep Gap, quite in the vicinity ...Been thru sev x , not lately, though, 80s from 🇫🇮
