May integral spirituality tolerate authoritarian control? Auroville's hostile takeover examined

On November 25th 2024 Aurovilians received an „urgent“ mail from the OSD Seetharaman, Auroville Foundation, containing a standing order regarding criteria for being allowed to live in the township of Auroville.
As the order was submitted to the Mass Bulletin by the „Financial and Assets Management Committee“ it is already marked as an assets issue. This becomes unmistakably clear from reading the authoritarian nonsense that guises itself as spiritual wisdom, abusing the words of Mirra Alfassa, Auroville’s founding Mother, for petty legal tyranny. From now on, more than ever before, you need to take a conscious choice who you are giving service to, the Divine or the bureaucrats.
