I had the same feelings about Dear Henry, Love Edith.

I did not enjoy Dear Henry, but I LOVED the Frugal Wizard's Handbook!

Yay, I'm glad you enjoyed Frugal Wizard! I'm hearing of more and more people who didn't like Dear Henry, so at least I'm not alone 😅

I've been curious about Frugal Wizard. I liked Tress but not Yumi and the Nightmare Painter. I haven't read the other secret projects. My favorite book I read in May was Rosemary for Remembrance. It's a murder mystery from the 1990s.

I feel like his secret projects in general are different from what everyone is used to from him, just from what I've heard about them because Frugal Wizard is the only one I've read. I would guess that's why there's such mixed feelings on them. I will have to look up Rosemary. I'm not a big mystery reader, but I'm more likely to give them a chance if I know someone else liked them.

@Coffee_and_a_Book the author of Rosemary for Remembrance is Audrey Stallsmith. There are several books with that title, so I thought I would make the search a bit easier 😁

Oh, thank you! That would not have been fun to figure out 😄

I have read the first six of the Temeraire series, and I have really enjoyed it. I actually thought the second three were even better than the first three, although I really like all of them so far.

It feels like a series that's just going get better as it goes, and as more and more gets built on. I'm really looking forward to book 4!

I didn’t make it through Dear Henry, Love Edith. I DNFed about halfway through. I understand the townsfolk were supposed to be comedic relief, but it was all so over the top I just couldn’t do it. I am interested in starting Temeraire.

I mostly pushed through because of the book club, and partially because I kept hoping it wouldn't end the way I thought it would. It didn't, but I still wasn't sold on the ending. And I agree, the townspeople were way too over the top. It's that secondhand embarrassment I want to look away from, but I can't because it's a book. I hope you enjoy Temeraire if you pick it up!

I really don't blame you. It could have been worse, in my opinion, but it also had the potential to be so much better 😔

I love Oathbringer (I love all Stormlight!) but didn’t enjoy Frugal Wizard at all😂 I only enjoyed one of the 1st four secret projects.🫤 Sunlit Man. Though, I did like quite a bit about Tress.

It feels like the secret projects are quite different from what he normally writes and publishes, and I think that's why there's such mixed feelings on them. I've heard a lot of people loved Tress, though I've heard very little about the other two. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Sunlit Man!
