The Kaito and Kokichi scene was beautifully portrayed. One thing Kokichi said " I do things for everyone's sake, but since no one believes I might as well keep lying," if you think about it all his actions to an extent was for the sake of everyone, even at the end sacrificing himself to try to end the game. Such a well written character.

Yes i think so too.. he is a confusing character. I mean he still continued the killing game by manipulating gonta to kill.. he could have avoided going to the roof.. maybe i missed something but i didnt understand his sudden urge to continie the killing game..

+Alice It wasn't that he wanted to continue the killing game, he was paranoid and suspicious of everyone. He wasn't rational in that regard cause he figured even if he avoided Miu likely she would just try to kill someone else using the program which she has full control over. Even if he told someone likely, they would believe he's lying cause he dug such a deep hole for himself that no one would believe him so Miu would get away with it. So in his mind, his only options were to kill Miu so that she doesn't kill anyone else AND get away with it with Gonta being a sacrificial pawn. Wasn't like he WANTED too but he wanted to survive the killing game as well as have the least amount of casualties. But afterwards it's pretty obvious that Gonta death shook him since he decided to pretend to be all evil mastermind. But yeah... I don't forgive him for killing Gonta but at the least I understand the WHY he did such a horrible thing.

Actually, Kokichi, took the role of the bad one, while he actually was trying to live and save everyone. Still, he remained confident in himself, and took everything on his shoulders, taking on this mask of the prankster, while he was always investigating by himself (thats why he always knew alot during trials, and could start his masterplan). Unlucky for him, he was targeted by miu, so he had to stop her, but he had to follow his rule to not kill anyone, so had gonta to do it for him, for everyone's sake, and had to bear the mask of the bad guy again, has he must have felt pretty bad for doing that. And all that made him think that dying for the sake of everyone else should be the good thing to do, because he was seen as the bad guy, and he probably was tired of having this role.

In my opinion I think kokichi is one of the smartest person, like he is very well aware that they are in like a simulator because he once said that "what's the point of a killing game if no one is watching it? " He hide his emotion very well too just so he can trick everyone that he is the mastermind and stop the game. But that didn't go as planned... And if you guys remember, he god damned write a whole book of script for Kaito, wishing he could help him stop the game. Which didn't happen because Shuichi who easily break it. But he kinda was able to let them get closer to find out who is the mastermind. Kokichi didn't died for nothing actually, he know he is going to die soon so he tired to make the final class trial as confusing as ever, which almost did end the game. But if he stay alive in the end he probably still have another 50 chances to actually stop the game. But the poison got the better of him...

Can't read Japanese, so I didn't know what song would be playing when I clicked on this, but man an I GLAD it was Yobanashi Deceive. This song fits Kokichi so freaking well! A song about a liar and his many masks that hide his true feelings from both friend and enemy? That's basically Kokichi in a nutshell. Both Kokichi and Kano are self proclaimed liars and are called monsters by people who don't work to understand them, and they accept this label as fact in order to not be hurt by it. Seto and Kido being Shuichi and Kaede respectively fits really good too! Where Seto and Kido were Kano's siblings and the only people besides Ayano who got to see his "true" self, Shuichi and Kaede were the only people Kokichi deemed "interesting," which is a HUGE compliment from him and Shuichi was tentatively labeled as trustworthy on Kokichi's whiteboard. Kokichi's free time events usually end up just being Shuichi and Kokichi hanging out and playing games, emphasizing the line in the song "If I say I'm really lonely, you could figure just a bit, And nothings changes" that Kokichi is both welcomes and despises the isolation given by his lies. He craves the attention from people he likes but pushes them away when they get to close and start seeing beneath his masks. By the end of chapter 4, Kokichi can "no longer be saved" from the isolating lies that created the rift between him and the others, so he ends up "Drowning in the lies," with everyone believing him to be the villian he made himself out to be and sacrificing himself before they could learn the truth. As you can tell, I REALLY liked this. Thank you very much for making it.

It is uncanny how well certain parts of this mach up with the game.
