Hey Mike, been watching your stuff for over a year now. When I first started I was in Grade 10, taking a 3D Animation course and using Auto desk Maya to do my work.Your videos really helped me get settled in and ended up putting me at the top of my class. I am now in grade 11 and considering future career paths involving the sort of work I'm doing now. I appreciate the effort you put into your tutorials and I predict I'll be watching you until you run out of videos to upload! Thanks again. Jake.

+jakakorn That is so cool Jake ! Thanks for sharing Mike

+jakakorn I definitely share that sentiment, and that's awesome that you're starting in high school! I'm in my last year of university and just a year ago I learned about 3D Modeling and animation and I wish I had known about it much earlier! More power to you man!

Great tutorial! Is there a way to export the birds as a mesh?

could you make a tutorial how model a tree? I try to import one from speed tree but maya 2015 has a problem with that.

Sir, im having a bit problem, why mine had another particles after the first particles released, and the last particles too didnt follow the flocker? Any ideas?

+CrazyMonkeyBS Sure, a white blinn

Mike Hermes will it give it that glossy look?
@MHTutorials3D9 жыл бұрын
Yes, just increase the reflectivity and specularity
@noirwolfcreations88279 жыл бұрын
is there any other way to do this without the partcle flocker ?
@MHTutorials3D9 жыл бұрын
+THE BIG BAD WOLF Yes, in part. You can still create the emitter and you can still replace the particles by birds. You just won't see the true flocking behavior

Mike, you are deff one of the top "straight to the point" Maya guys Ive seen on the tube in years. That said, I actually do have a question. I havent used dynamics/particles extensively or at all since 2011. A while ago, I was having some particles emit from the surface of an image (full disclosure, I was trying to make a galaxy in Maya to export over to UE, for a simple workflow). Is it possible to export those particles by themselves or do they require being replaced/attached with some sort of geometry? Thanks again for your work!

+CrazyLogicfilms I am not too familiar with Game engines but if you want to export the simulation you will need to bake it
@CrazyLogicfilms9 жыл бұрын
+Mike Hermes Alright. Thats the road block I keep getting into because Ive been reading on "baking simulations" and Ive gotten a number of answers. . Is baking the simulation as easy as "Set Initial Position and then ncache" it? Or am I missing something here?
@MHTutorials3D9 жыл бұрын
+CrazyLogicfilms Nope, that's about it
@CrazyLogicfilms9 жыл бұрын
Welp, back to figuring out the whole ncahe thing. Thanks Mike!
@gregposey39849 жыл бұрын
+CrazyLogicfilms Hmm this is interesting, I'm currently trying to self-teach UE and I have been struggling to even get started, however, it's reassuring to see others working with these programs doing the same, essentially! :)
