Hi. thanks for the tutorial, but what about the flipping that happens when adding the aim constraint? how do we solve that? even in your tutorial there's a jump in the canon when you press the add button .

Another great tutorial that taught me once again. Appreciate your time in making these videos and helping us learn. A quick question if I may, I know you said you don't work with game engines, but is there a way in Maya to set it so the barrel of the cannon will not go thru the base if I move my circle down really far? or a way to make it stop if I move my circle up? Also I created a new lambert texture and grabbed a concrete .jpg and tried to texture the base of the cannon. Looks horrid, the top flat services look nice, but the side up and down faces look like pinstripe wallpaper.
@MHTutorials3D9 жыл бұрын
+Forgotten Heroes To answer your question, yes you can restrict the movement of the cannon so it won't go down through the base. And as for your texture, you need to UV the object before texturing to make it look good, Mike

can u help me out with the settings i should use in maya 16 ? i realised that some things work differently when i see them in your videos than that when i use them on my computer ... for example when i select any face or edge of an object and try to move it or scale it the faces adjacent to it also move a bit ... i would really appreciate if you make a tutorial to fix this or reply me a solution to this problem ...

Hmm sorry, this isn't a good tutorial. Or atleast, it's very VERY basic. The cannon isn't pointing correctly at the circle, the circle isn't decently implemented for an animator to use, and there are no limitations and clipping will occur. Thanks for showing beginners where they can find the aim constraint button in Maya, but this could've been explained way better.

Jex B exactly the same feeling that I have when I watch any of his tutorials. On the one hand he doesn't have to do this and we should be grateful no matter what we get for free. But on the other hand objectively they are not pedagogical. If you're trying to explain something to the beginners then you should try to explain in a way that beginners understand -what is what and what's it for and some different situations in which this can be useful and maybe even some creative ways to use this since that's the whole point in Maya. To put it simply if he was a teacher in a grade school and tried to teach like this he will be kicked out after one day. This is exactly what they instruct teachers how not to approach beginners. then again he doesn't have to do this so what can I say except thank you for your tutorials.

how conect 2 diferent object ,one smooth and another unsmooth, and keep initial forms?
@MHTutorials3D9 жыл бұрын
+Life in 3D There is no smooth and unsmooth. There is low poly and higher poly. When you hit 3 on your keyboard you get a "preview" smooth but this is only a preview ( not real increase in polycount ) When you try to connect this it won't work. However when you go to Mesh - Smooth on one the object you have a real actual increase in polycount.
