My heart goes out for Kira’s family. She should have met with that horrible fate. Unfortunately, in this country, there is blatant discrimination against people of color, particularly brown people. The odds are stacked very high against us. The medical community is the most guilty among them all. We get substandard care no matter what your socioeconomic status. Prime example is Serena Williams who nearly lost her life in a similar way. If it was for her quick thinking and her firmness is putting her foot down and fiercely advocating for herself, maybe she wouldn’t be here today. They treat brown people very inhumanely. They think we have. I feelings and don’t deserve to be treated respectfully. It is purely racial. We must call the spade a spade. One has to wonder if this is by design for them to eradicate our race. We must all get involved and share Kira’s story as much as we can to create greater awareness and call out the racially charged institutions and doctors and others in the medical arena who practice this wretchedness. Kira’s story will lead the charge and bring the necessary change for my all women of color in America and the world.
