John! Thank you! Her father helped her set up her own KZbin channel three years ago, she has some interesting music there. I’m sorry I sent you the one that had the post comments cut off. She tells Howie her inspirations are Tool, Exodus, Slayer. In fact the guitar she is playing was a gift from Tool’s guitarist and she got another from Exodus too. She has been in the US for a few months now and has been jamming with those same artists. At the end of the video it looks like the three sisters from The Warning may have been front row in the audience? She was just in Nashville a few weeks ago at the Gibson Garage among other places. I wish her so much luck! Love her talent and her personality!

She plays indian classical music, carnatic music, which starts slow and goes on to very fast beat and lasts long even upto 3 hours, its very incricate and difficult. This 2 min act is easy.

According to Maya’s Thank you video, she has strong support from well known performers. Her guitar was a gift from Alex Jones, guitarist from Tool. Also, Gary Holt, guitarist from Exodus and Slayer was there in the audience to support her national debut. He even came in during rehearsals earlier in the day to help her tune her guitar! The interesting thing about here solos was she blended a classical Carnatic Raga into a Metal Solo... the start Aalaap was an excellent fit to what followed... It never seemed out of place. The solo licks had plenty of slides which is basically a lot Gamakas as they would call it... All pretty cool stuff.. Before this she has performed for audiences... though may be not his big on a stage like this... She is used to playing... but getting this good in just 4 years... man...

Nice to see start with carnatic classic which is one of the genre of Indian classic and it’s start with slow notes and while progress it’s notes will go like whirlpool .. very tough in progressive level to perform .. and with in 2 years out of 4 years she almost pro of carnatic in guitar .. thanks to Prasanna sir who taught her .. and after that with the continuation she maintained the western mixed very well.. 99.999 PCT OF South Indian Carnstic style musicians ( includes students) and BHARATNATYAM dancers always start any performance, including one for learning as a student in class, does at least a stanza of a prayer to the favourite Hindu deity or do a step for worshipping the deity in dance SIGNS/ MUDRAS. THAT IS WHAT SHE DID IN THE INITIAL SECOND, BEFORE DOING WHAT SHE WANTED TO DO WITH GUITAR. ❤
