Mayamalavagaulai in Drupad Style

Dhrupad is an ancient and traditional form of Indian classical music that focuses on a slow, meditative, and deep exploration of musical notes. It is characterized by its serious and spiritual tone, often performed with a steady rhythm and without much ornamentation. The singing style is powerful and uses a lot of long, sustained notes, with an emphasis on the purity of pitch and rhythm. Dhrupad performances often begin with a slow, free-form section called "alap" where the artist explores the raga (melodic framework) before moving into a more structured composition accompanied by the pakhawaj, a type of drum.
