it's like Navajo/Diné food. we make mini fruit tamales, but we don't call them tamales. but they fall under the tamale category. then we make bigger tamales that we cook in the ground, but they are not in the same category as tamales. i guess you have to grow up in the culture & learn the langauge in order to understand the differences.

Cherokee people, we have these too--diganuli is the word for this kind. Seasoned beans mixed in cornmeal and steamed is called tuya gadu or bean bread.

Felicidades señoras, buen trabajo! E nuetro pais tiene variedad de tamales y muy deliciosos. Pueden ser envueltos en diferentes hojas como de platano, de mazorca, de mashan o manshan, hay otra hoja pero no recuerdo el nombre y bueno hasta en aluminio y hoja acerada... lo bueno es prepararlos y degustarlos con un rico cafe, que por cierto ya se me antojo, voy por el.. bye, bye..🤗😘😘😘

I'm sorry for my opinion but this type of tamal is Chuchitos not the traditional tamal from Guatemala. Also that's not the way you pack the tamal. You put one tusa and put the meat and the recado and that's it! You also forgot the process of the masa and meat and recado.. Too much explanation and she make it see so difficult and looks that she doesn't know what she is doing. There is more videos about the Chuchitos with better explanation. The other lady loosing her patience lol. Anyways that's for you tutorial. Blessings..

Para todos los que estan criticando a las senoras de que no son tamales si no chuchitos pongan atension en el 0.45. Tambien los que disen que asi no se embuelben los chuchitos deverian ir a un pueblo maya aber como se embuelben. To be honest, I am so sorry to disagree those are not tamales, (tamales are wrapped in Hoja de mashan" those are chuchitos and you are wrapping them like tamalitos de cambray. You are confusing people. Just as a reminder "rellenitos are not enchiladas" "chuchitos are not tamales" "tamales are not paches" Perhaps.... visitors will request tamales and they will be expecting chuchitos I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU SHOULD RESPECT MAYA CULTURE AND FOOD.
