Gilly might have the saddest or at least loneliest journey out of any of the Mayans in the show. He’s always either alone or was with coco or angel, had to lose his friendship with coco over drugs, saved his life only to have him die months later when he was finally clean and then his other best friend Angel fucks coco’s daughter and ruins that friendship, coco’s daughter wants nothing to do with him or the club, he was one of the few that seemed to really like Steve and was upset after, had to watch bishop and taza run their charter to the ground only for taza to eventually quit, creepers locked up now, probably gonna watch ez turn into a tyrant and lose another friend, not to mention his ptsd from the war. Not a surprise that he’s normally the first one to start fighting or getting angry fast

Really sad scene. Even though Coco and Gilly’s friendship was straining, he did that to Angel cause he was outraged from the disrespect and cause Coco wasn’t there to do it. An Angel just stood there and took that beating because he knew he messed up and deserved it.

If you think about it. After gilly punches angel and beats the hell out of him. Most of his savagery, stupidity, and all of that left angel and turned into something different and now you finally see him hold maverick. Its like gilly did the right thing busting angels ass cuz he needed that and it snapped him into reality ever since. It was a wakeup call
