ive been on and off vegetarian my whole life. Unlike a lot of vegetarians I know, I actually like the taste if meat and grew up on it. But it wasnt until alveus got Winnie that I fully went into it. I haven’t ate beef since and never will. Also I eat far less meat than I had been. I’m not saying you have to be vegetarian, you can do so much outside of that, but for me it was a legitimate morale quandary and Alveus helped. Also I have my Winnie plush and I love it.

Easily over 100m head of cattle in the US. Herd sizes aren't supposed to exceed certain sizes based on land usage. So big ol' corporations lie about how many head of cattle they have. And pigs, and chickens, and everything else. And then they get caught, as they know they will, and pay a fine, so small they just count it as cost of doing business. But nobody goes out and corrects the record, because that can't make the Department of Ag or the IRS any more money without much higher costs in litigation. They might do it with individual cattle owners, small-scale dairy farmers and the like. But not with the big corporations that make up most of this problem, because they have teams of lawyers and the beef and dairy lobbies. It was a pretty well-known "secret" that my cow town had at least 25% more animals than they were allowed to have, at multiple factory farms with pigs, cows and turkeys all within like 30 miles of us.

I would love to see us drastically reverse global warming and deforestation, but my hopes are low and it breaks my heart.

Unfortunately I think the true status of global warming will be decided in Latin America and East Asia. The problem being that those millions of poor people obviously don't want to stay poor and staying alive ranks way higher than the issues around global warming, in their eyes.
