My 15-1/2 year old Husky. 😅 Though, that's just age related... But _surely_ Georgie would have to make the list! Then again, the already-covered Tardigrades with their decades of torpor definitely would sit near the top. They also may need/want to include plants as well, sleep being akin to going dormant during droughts/unusually long cold weather periods. _(would only be fair since animals need pants, and some plants need animals, so we gotta conserve BOTH)_ _EDIT: Ok... I obviously typed that _*_before_*_ getting to the third story, where Maya immediately mentions "plant"!_ 😅

I'm surprised Maya didn't mention the rest of the life stages of the corpse flower cause that's super crazy as well!! So there's the flowering stage, the dormant stage (where the roots look like a giant brown kernel underground called a corm, this can get to 110+ lbs), and the leaf stage. During the leaf stage, the corpse flower grows a 20ft tall "tree". PLEASE look up a picture of it, because that "tree" is a single 20 ft tall LEAF. Not leaves, a single LEAF with many leaflets. And this leaf dies every year and the corpse flower grows a new 20 ft tall leaf until it gets the energy it needs to make another flower. Apparently botanists at the Huntington Garden (one of the largest producers of corpse flowers) say that the leaf stage grows so fast, they can actually hear it creak from how fast it's growing.

That'd be interesting... Greenland Shark has gotta be on that list, if not occupying the top spot. (callback to World's Oldest) Might as well do the reciprocal of it: densest population (colonies). I presume it's going to be only sea life and insects... Fish schools, crab broods(?), and and termites.

Regarding the Corpse Flower: Why Connor might have known about it but not recognised the picture is because there are 2 different plants, both huge, both from indonesia, who are referred to as corpse flower: The amorphophallus titanium that was mentioned here, but also the rafflesia arnoldii, which is propably the one Connor thought of (I think it's a bit more famous, at least I've seen it in a few documentaries).

Here's a bit more explanation on the Buzzard naming convention and how vultures ended up being called buzzards. These words (hawk and buzzard) originated in Europe generally based on two groups of raptors. Buteo(Soaring Hawks) and Accipiters(pursuit hawks). Buteos are generally larger raptors(Think red tailed hawk) that generally hunt and travel by soaring high with minimal flapping whereas Accipiter raptors hunt in fast pursuit burst with lots of flapping(Think coopers hawk or goshawks) So, big soaring raptors(Buteos) came to be known as Buzzards and the fast pursuit raptors(Accipiter) became known as Hawks. Now imagine you come from England to colonize the US and you see the very large raptors that only travel by soaring and you see them eating meat so naturally you call them Buzzards not understanding what vultures are and there you have it Vultures in the US get called Buzzards. However none of that really matters anymore because if we stuck to old naming conventions we would have things in the US called Red Tailed Buzzards and instead we just call everything( Buteo and Accipiter) Hawks and Vultures are rightfully called Vultures. don't even bring up Kites

I was exploring an old abandoned house that was falling in on it's self with my brother in law. On what used to be the 2nd floor he made his way across a precarious bit to get to a room on the other side, i stayed behind because i didn't trust the stability. He found a baby vulture (black or turkey not sure which one) in the room, i asked him to take a picture to confirm it was a vulture since i couldn't see it. Instead he picked it up to show me, while he was holding it, it threw up all over him, he put it back and then he started to throw up all over the place also. I got the hell out but as i was finding my way the smell started reaching me... it was awful.

Unfortunate Story... In the 90s, my dad had some deer hunting property which had an old dilapidated two story farm house, full of trash and hasn't been lived in for decades. We owned it for a few years, but at the time of this story my friends and I during this period were about 10yrs old. When we would go up north to the property in the summer, for entertainment we would usually just beat on the building or shoot up it's chimney with the .22 rifle. The inside walls were wood slats with concrete-like plaster, so it took alot of abuse from us to break them. But one day, we heard rustling upstairs, and it was sort of spooky! I got my dad and we carefully made our way upstairs (which kinda surprised they held us lol), and that's when things got REALLY spooky, because it sounded like a big cat or group of snake hissing! Being mid state in Minnesota meant it could easily have been either one, although I honestly have no idea what my dad thought it was, as he never said... All I know is he was quite concerned! Enough to go down and grab his .22 pistol! 😅 We go back upstairs, and admittedly in cliche American fashion, stuck his arm around the corner, and quickly fired off all 10 rounds... 🥴 He then peaks his head around the corner and all he uttered was _"Aawww f××k..."_ So what actually was it that he dispatched, saving us kids from? Just a nesting Turkey Vulture. 🤦♂️ Yea, he wasn't proud of that heh Actually, he was quite concerned that they might be protected and as such, swore my friends and I to secrecy! 😋 It's over 30 years later, and unfortunately dad is no longer with us anyways, so it's a good life lesson now... In addition to vomiting, Turkey Vultures can also make a deep, menacing sounding hiss! Though more importantly, look *_BEFORE_* you mag-dump... 👍 _(oh, another detail I just remembered that added to the genuine spookiness: we could see a deep red, flickering glow on the that bedroom's wall... which in similar_ 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ _fashion, was just the sun shining through the leaves, being diffused even further by the boarded up window.)_
