If you haven’t thought of how to catch the sawdust from the conveyor try a tote with the plastic tank left in with just the top cut off!

Yep. It is the million little things everyday on a farm that demands sun up to sun down to live that life. You add saw milling to that and filming it and you have more than doubled that need to milk every ray of sunshine available. When seconds become more than precious.God bless you for being tougher than the ask of you brother!

I really enjoy Robert @ Hobby Hardwoods, thanks to you. I'm glad to see you finally got a roller conveyor for the waste slabs. Another modification of Robert's that will help with your efficiency is welding those 1"x1" blocks on the push-back forks so you can pull back the boards and drop them anywhere you want closer to your stacking pallet. I was relieved that you only pinched some PVC tubing. I was envisioning major damage to the cutting head.

If you take care about reducing noise of dust collection - i'm running a lt40 with 15kW electric motor - and I think its by far less noise than any combustion engine. For a stationary sawmill i'd always go for a electric one ..

In 1989 after I came home from the Army I went to work for the NC department of corrections. I hadn't been there long and I asked one of the Officers how they handled the boredom. He replied," Look forward to the boring days, I didn't want to see any exciting days." That has stuck with me, even today. Most of the excitement around here isn't good excitement.
@stevestormssr549217 сағат бұрын
If you didn't want the sawdust in the gravel, why did you park the mill farther onto the gravel pad? You need one more roller frames for the offload side with a stop at the outer end. Spaced apart, you can offload the lumber with the forks and handle each board fewer times!
