This is honestly one of the only channels I ever visit regularly on KZbin. I mean thank goodness you're actually interested in black metal and you enjoy making these informative videos; it's been so helpful. Btw just one suggestion: when deciding to choose on which black metal songs to create a tutorial for, it might be best for you to pick songs that don't have tabs/tutorials (or any good ones) of any sort on the internet. Of those black metal songs (with none or no good tabs/lessons) however, you should only pick the ones you're interested in. I hope this suggestion helps you when you decide on your next BM song tutorial (although it's completely up to you if you wish to follow it or not). If it's not too much to ask, can you plz create a tutorial for The Red Archromance by Anorexia Nervosa? I'm dying to figure out how to play it. And srry for the long comment.

Great lesson, but the one thing I want to point out is that in the main verse riff, he plays the notes individually rather than as part of the chords.

That's true if you mean the A# chord part. Although another guitar plays power chords so that's probably why Simon got confused. Also there are other mistakes in this tutorial as well.

At 8:47 the only difference I MIGHT be hearing is that the last time he does the 0 4 riff on the e, it goes 0 6 on the A again, 0 5 on the A, 0 7 on the D, and 0 8 on the G, then back to 0 - 7 on the D.

Hey Simon in the second last part of the song when you play f minor chord and say to mainly focus on the a, d and g stringsI'm a little confused. Do you mean to not pick the b string at all or is it added in?

You tune the guitar with the tuning keys at the end of the guitar on the headstock. You can buy a tuner that will tell you that you're in tune as well.

I notice that many players do powerchords with the pinky, ringfinger and index...I do it with index and pinky, the pinky over both the other strings, are there any disadvantages with that?

+leigh richardson Hi Leigh, I just tune them up based on the song I'm playing, and I normally just pick the guitar that I'm in the mood to play, or the one that is most handy. Zero science to it, unless I'm playing something that needs a strat/single coil sound vs a humbucker/harder sound. Then I'm more specific on which guitar I pick up...

Simon Smith I was just curious why you didn't include it. I actually know how it goes, basically go to the 14th fret on the high E, tremolo pick it, but not too fast, with some vibrato in the fret hand and then do some chaotic noodly shreddy stuff in that same key. Think Euro's solo in "War" by Burzum, just crazy noodling. At least that how I play the "Life Eternal" solo. Kinda wish Euronymous put as much thought into his solo work as much as he did riffs, sodomy and Satan.
