As someone entirely out of the loop and having no idea who this guest is, but coming from being a fan of YMIW as long as thirteen years ago, I’m legitimately wondering why there is such a backlash for this episode? I’m not being facetious as some may suspect. I’m truly in the dark here. Coming from this simply as a fan of Pete Holmes and not knowing this guest, and just enjoying the episode as a normal conversation as any would be, what is the deal with the comment section? It seems like there’s some weird automatic bias against the guest?

When “Blossom” ended, Joey Lawrence was given another tv show with his brothers, including Matthew, who was coming off of “Mrs. Doubtfire”. However, a cousin of one of the movie’s other cast members became bitter about not being able to ride his relatives’ coattails. But he didn’t give up, and now has a top 10 podcast about how he’s definitely not bitter about that. He just happens to be really against the idea of sys men becoming women. I watch alooooot of podcasts, mostly on youtube, and I've never seen such an outrageous comments section. And I watch quite a bit of political content from all sides. I'm not sure what the conclusion should be. I'm kind of suspecting that if this is the nature of your audience, the podcast probably isn't very good. I might be wrong. Hope I am. Either way, it sucks. So called "liberal" extremism doesn't make anyone a better person. Just like joining Al Qaeda never made anyone a better Muslim. If you're lazy and ignorant and ready to believe every half-truth that comes your way, you can have all the best intentions in the world and still cause substantial damage to the lives of people who actually have to live the consequences of your so called "activism". So... If you are that person, lazy and ignorant and gullible, and you genuinely want to do some good in the world, either take the time to sit down and do some deep, serious research (which starts by examining all sides of the story, namely listening, really listening to opposing narratives) or alternatively find yourself a new hobby and go live your life in peace. What you're doing right now is not helping anybody. Believe me. It just makes life 10 times harder for people across the world dealing with hardships you can't even imagine.
