I like how the commentators criticised the Mayo lads for going down to Hill 16 but it worked. Mayo stormed out to a 4 point lead when Dublin normally start fast and we won the match. Mission accomplished.

It took the Dubs about 16 mins to score their first point. It worked

As a dub … This was the smartest thing they could’ve done

This clip just shows how full of bull the Sunday Game panel can be at times. First of all, Croke Park belongs to the GAA as a whole and not Dublin; their home ground is Parnell Park. Mayo were perfectly entitled to kick into the Hill if they wanted to. Secondly, it obviously worked as a psychological ploy, given how rattled the Dubs obviously were by it, and given that Mayo got the first three or four scores of the game.

I've seen them win two in the last three years, including one just three weeks ago (beating Dublin along the way). Thanks for asking!

Bollox son, Dubs own the hill always will.....they did'nt do it again.....tried to take the hill and got laughed at...what a laughing stock of a county with twat fans

Nope, everything you just posted is incorrect, I'm afraid, as you've implicitly conceded by not contradicting any of the points I actually made. Sure Mayo fans outnumbered Dublin significantly at those All-Ireland finals, the Hill included. So much so that one Dublin fan page set up a campaign whingeing about it after the 2016 drawn final.

TheLastAngryMan01 Nothing I wrote is incorrect...I have not 'implicitly conceded by not contradicting any of the points I actually made' in any way. Ticket allocations were utterly stupid. 120k people live in mayo...1.2 M in Dublin albeit not all dubs. Mathematically you could argue dublin should have gotten x10 tickets but the system is stacked against dublin with every other county sending their tickets to mayo thereby starving dubs of precious tickets....anyway bottom line is Dubs always have and always will be the 'bad guys' with their vocal and magnificent support over the last 40 yrs and very much into the future

Wrong again, you should really lay off those cans. Dublin gain a lot of advantages from having a large population (funding, player numbers, all of their championship games being played in their city, sponsorship etc.) and All-Ireland final ticketing is pretty much the only downside to this, so stop whingeing and live with it. Population is only part of the story, given that large swathes of people in the inner city and south County Dublin wouldn't know whether an O'Neill's is pumped or stuffed. If you look at the number of clubs, for example, Cork have nearly double Dublin's numbers, despite having one-sixth of its population. It's hardly Mayo's fault that their team qualified for the final a week earlier, giving them more time to source tickets. There are also many more Mayo people involved in GAA clubs outside their native county than Dubs, which is an advantage in sourcing tickets.

I remember Declan Kidney did the exact same thing when Munster faced Toulouse in the European Cup semi-final in Bordeaux in 2000, told his team to warm up right in front of their raucous supporters at the start, he said they'd never hear worse abuse, screaming, shouting and noise, and if they could handle that at warm up, they'll handle it in the game, and Munster did exactly that. It's a cheeky but coy move.

That Dublin team and their thick guard in charge got exactly the amount of All Ireland's they deserved. Gilroy should have at least been suspended if not arrested.

Colm O'Rourke, a classy, educated and decent man, player and pundit. I read his book, it's great stuff. People like Bernard Flynn could learn a thing from him.
