I personally was wearing Adidas waaaay before Run Dmc came out, and My Adidas came out in 1986 on the Raising Hell album, maybe the younger generation and the rest of the country wanted to be Run, but many of us were already wearing Adidas with no laces, Run Dmc didn't invent that style, they were only doing what everyone else in the hoods were doing.... Hip Hop wasn't birth with an official dress code, the dress code came about spontaneously, it wasn't planned, it just so happened that when we got dressed to go to a hip hop party or jam, we put on our new Pumas or Adidas, and before that it was the 3 striped pro keds known as 69ers..... Peace....
