This is the third Maytag machine purchased in 42 years. My first two were work horses. This modern machine is nothing like the older models. I have this machine for 2.5 yrs and I have another call for repair. The cycle now begins mid cycle and it does not spin dry. If I have known this I would looked into another brand.

Does it spin right away or does it take forever to balance before it spins? I have a Samsung front loader from 2016 and it always took forever to balance before spinning.

Was working great the first 2 months, then the cycle time more than doubled for everything(55 minutes turned to over 2 hours on a normal cycle for example). I'm not sure what's wrong, and can't find any information of other people having this problem with it. Was told it might be a water filter/hose issue, but I can't exactly move the thing to check and it's hard enough right now to get someone to come look at it let alone repair it.

@@gurpreetgill5771 Nope. I've heard of claims on the weight sensor being a common issue but that's nothing that can really be fixed on one's own so I ended up just playing with the soil level settings for my washes to decrease the time a little.

On mine I noticed when I switch to normal wash the steam option turns itself on, turn it off and the time should drop back to the 1:36 like shown in this video

Our washer is a 5630 instead of 6630 but very similar. Overnight our Quick Wash cycle changed from 15 minutes to 45 minutes and we cannot find any way to reset it back to 15. Very disappointing!!!!

On mine I hit the power button and it just says locked with a key symbol but the door is open and the machine hasnt ran in a bit...

You need to press and hold the lock button for until it’s finished counting down. Hope you’ve already resolved this in the last year lol.

I know this is 2 years ago but for anyone reading this question you can switch these doors around yourself VERY easily there are even videos on here to show you how to do it yourself. My wife and I have this set and she wanted me to switch the doors to open left to right but they came right to left . So I looked up a video and it was VERY simple

From day 1, the electronic touchscreen has worked intermittently and now the unit doesn’t start. Turning the power off at the breaker doesn’t even bring this unit back to life or reset anything.

Our washer is about a month old and we've had an issue with it on normal cycle at 53 minutes it decides to just sit there and tumble. I'm getting very frustrated with this brand new machine that has to be watched constantly. If anyone has any idea of what might be going on, help is appreciated. Thank you.

@LeoRousseau You may want to try unplugging it from the wall for 1-2 minutes, then plug it back in. That will reset the board which can fix a variety of issues. @natenevlackin6179 Here is what Maytag recommends when the door won't unlock at the end of a cycle: -Were you using a "Fresh Hold" cycle (available on some models)? When using one of these cycles, the door will remain locked until the cancel button is pushed. This is normal. -If the washer will not unlock at the end of a wash cycle, unplug the washer or disconnect power. Wait approximately 2 minutes for control to reset. Reconnect power to washer (plug in). Run a "Drain and Spin" cycle. The door should unlock after this is complete. If not, call for service. If neither of these work and you purchased your washer from Abt, please send your contact information to [e-mail] and we will have one of our on-site technicians contact you to try and help solve the issue.

Ours stopped working just short of 3 years. Have been waiting 3 months for parts!! Platinum Factory Services, the company recommended by Maytag came out and said it needs a new motor and a control panel! Less then 3 years old. WILL NEVER PURCHASE MAYTAG OF WHIRLPOOL EVER AGAIN. Terrible service from both companies PFS and Maytag, uncaring, unconcerned about how long it is taking and not helpful in giving some idea as to how much longer it will take, couldn't give me order number or even the part number so I could follow up on it, and took almost an hour to talk to someone!

This is the worst washing machine I’ve ever bought. It shuts off before spinning the water out of the clothes, is cumbersome to use because of the computerized pads (knobs are SOOO much better!) and if we want to add clothing while it’s washing, we find that to be an arduous task with the lid locked down. Then th machine has to be restarted, which is a pain. The dryer also malfunctions, and shuts off after 2 minutes. These are brand new. Brand new! And poorly and inconveniently designed. We plan to return both washer and dryer and will never buy this brand again. What is wrong with having simple knobs which allow us to set it and go? In addition, the washer has to go through all these “sensing” steps, so I cannot walk away and be sure it’s actually going to start up. I am beyond unhappy with these two machines,

@@marileorube24 I dont like the turn on of the units. My units I cannot just put it on a setting and hit start. It will not work. Sometimes I hold it for 4-6 seconds and it will work sometimes I hold it for 4-6 seconds and it will not work. If I just hit the button nothing happens. Sometimes It looks like it has started only to come back couple minutes later and the entire machine is turned off. Very frustrating.
