In this video I show how to reset the Maytag Maxima washing machine. This will unlock the door if it is locked. Some of these strategies will work for other brands as well. Maytag, whirlpool, GE, G E, lg, LG, Amana, Kenmore, Samsung, Electrolux.

WOW : Repairman said the machine needs a new drain pump. BUT I tried this 3 button method AFTER HE LEFT b/c I wanted to get all the wet laundry out of the machine. The F09 E01 codes were replaced by F03 E01...( water level sensor) OK...then I found another solution online : Plug the machine back in and let the drain pump ( which was humming ) just run for around 8 minutes. The online helper said the drain pump has to run through a reset . BINGO....after 8 minutes the drain pump shut off, all the error codes were gone and the door unlocked !!! WISH I had seen this video BEFORE I called for service. Could have saved $150 bucks service call.....but at least I didn't have to get a NEW DRAIN PUMP !! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR THESE GREAT VIDEOS AND HELP.

Excellent Info!! WOW Thank you sooooo much!!! What worked for me was pushing the 3 buttons 3 sets and then the middle button 2 times BOOM Done! I have the Maytag MHW5500FWO

Thank you sir for the post. My Maytag washer kept on shutting off shooting error codes. Followed the steps in your video and sure enough it had a sock stuck in that drain preventing it from properly draining.

all in all really love your videos. Just want to ask, for me I cleaned the trap (same exact washer as you with the access through the back). The code has still come on. Now I know the code reset program which makes me feel equally like a spy and a hacked which of course helps the situation tremendously. That being said, the code still comes on e01 f09. I saw on the other video you suggested to clean out behind the trap, I did that. I feel there is junk that’s stuck between the basin and the trap housing, in the pump. Is there a way I can clean the pump? Thank you. If not, what is the pump number for our machine? Really appreciate you, mate.

I have this washer and my control panel started jumping around but now seems stuck on control lock. I have tried the resetting with pushing the three buttons x 3 and then the middle bottom x’s 2, however, It didn’t work. Maybe because the controls are locked. Any advice on how to unlock the unit? The 10 year warranty is not up, And I bought an additional five year warranty, but I do not have receipts so I can use them. I need help! Please!

That’s a tough one. Try unplugging the washer overnight.

My pump is constantly running, cant unlock doors at all. There wass a clogged filter but now pump is on 100% of the time

Unplug it for 10 minutes. Plug it back in see if that resets it.
