Maytag washer won't start. After changing the outlet.

We first had a locking issue. That was resolved after a service call. Next issue was a sensing issue. The washer would try to sense the load and then shut down. This is the issue in the video. We had two service calls trying to fix that. It was not fixed. We were able to work around it by taking the lock tab out of the lid (it just turns a little to release.) and put it in the lock. This way the washer thought it was locked. Then, when the washer tried to sense the load, we'd give it a spin. Some sort of magic happened and the washer started. Of course the lid wasn't actually locked, so that's not ideal. Maytag ended up replacing our washer with a new one. We've had it about a month now, and all seems to be working well. The entire ordeal played out over about 9 months. I did ask them to extend the warranty during this time which they did. The final time that I called to schedule maintenance I also asked to talk to a replacement representative. When they saw that we had several service attempts, they scheduled a replacement. Mines doing same damn thing thought it was lid switch but wasn’t it doing exact same thing yours was. Did Maytag service tech say it wasn’t repairable and they warranties it? Mines right at year old and about to go out of warranty Thanks

They extended my warranty while they were 'fixing it'. After several attempts I finally complained and asked for a higher up. That person replaced it.

So make sure to call and have them extend your warranty if they insist on repairing it.

We never figured it out. They changed locks, boards, switches. Then FINALLY replaced it. Our new one (same model) works.
