Great Video...very much to the point. Your video saved me from needlessly buying a new motor. I have an old Maytag (Model LAT8200AAW) that would not agitate, spin or even start. I thought the motor was burned out. I had taken the agitator out to clean because of a strong mold odor. When I put it back together, it agitated and spun. I filled the tub and added some bleach. The machine agitated for one minute then I shut it off to let the bleach water act on any mold that might have been inside the outer tub. When I restarted the agitation a strong burned rubber smell started, then the machine shut off and would not restart. I feared the motor was burned out. I found this very clear, practical video and made the test wire per your clear instructions. The motor in my washer was a bit different than shown in the video but connections were labeled YL, RD, BU and BK as in your video. I connected the test wires first to spin and the motor and pump seemed to work. I was elated, motor ok! Then I tried the agitator connections and again all seemed ok. I went back to the spin to empty the tub but again a strong burned rubber smell started. I found the belt to the pump was loose and slipping causing the burned smell. I emptied the tub and am now pursuing the true cause of the motor not running. May report later. Thank you again, keep up the very helpful work.

Great video, thank you. BUT, may I suggest a breaker in your wire harness. I got a big spark when I plunged it in. Motor Dead. The house breaker was not tripped. I know AC and DC circuits.

Agitation cycle works but drain spin doesn’t. Also a burning smell.

My problem exactly! Can the motor start capacitor be the problem?
