Really informative video and kudos to Dr. Subin for providing great content. It would have been really helpful if you could include information about readily available materials to be used as pH, GH and KH buffer. Like baking soda, corals or sea shells or carbonate rocks as pH and GH up buffer or using tannin sources like driftwood or almond leaves or vinegar as pH down buffer. If you could provide a list of these and how to use them, it would be of great help

I have a PH of 7 and only one plant is growing crazy 10 g non co2 with aqua soil as a substrate and 10w led light for 10 hrs, over a year old set up. The plant that is growing crazy is water wisteria but others aren't what could be the reason ?? The other plants are like renecki, ludwigia..btw video is awesome I had known few things about pH already but this sums up it all .. do you recommend to buy pH down kit in my case? I have guppies, tetras, shrimps in my tank. Thank you.
@amitacharjee8985
@amitacharjee8985 3 жыл бұрын
You should share complete tank setup, wisteria is a fast growing plant, but Ludwigia, reinki will not grow and catch color without CO2 injection, another parameter is presence of nitrate, to eleminate that you need a proper filter with good biomedia, for 10 gallon or 30-40 litre tank you need a filtration rate of 300-400 litre/hour with 800gram to 1 kg biomedia atleast, third is light,atleast 30 watt light full.spectrum, fourth is quality fertiliser, you should balance your light time fertliser dose by observation, goodluck for success
@jt9513
@jt9513 3 жыл бұрын
@@amitacharjee8985 Thank you for your suggestions. I don't use any additional bio media except the sponge inside the filter. My tank has lack of nitrates have tested it with test kit also the plants leaves look yellowish! I used to have DIY Co2 but due to imbalance stopped using it as it allowed algae to grow now no algae since over 4 months!
@MayurDevAquascaper
@MayurDevAquascaper 3 жыл бұрын
Couple of pointers the right pH is good for plant growth and so is co2, also your light is insufficient for red plants, do check on this and you will have better results, you can try and mix some mineral water and reduce the pH an see if there is a change, yet without co2 and light the liquids you buy will be a waste of your money
@amitacharjee8985
@amitacharjee8985 3 жыл бұрын
@@jt9513 first of all sponge is only mechanical filtration, without biofiltration nitrogen cycle will not be complete, your aquarium ecosystem will be imbalanced, learn about cycling, how much media you need based on tank size and fish type, as a hobbyist we all tried DIY CO2, it is not suitable , arrange fund and get pressurised cylinder CO2, search online CO2 cylinder and regulator kit will cost 8000 to 15000 roughly, if you cannot then plan low tech nonco2 planted setup, plants selection will be different, watch Mayursir video about filtration, CO2,light ,these are essential
