A wonderful piece of music. In my youth I playled etudes with little pleasure. In the meantime I try to motivate my students to practise this kind of etudes

We try to find satisfaction and enjoyment in practicing etudes, whether it´s musical satisfaction, or just the satisfaction of beautiful bow strokes or beautifully executed shifts, clarity of articulation, etc. etc.

I play 25 in third pos. 26 in first. then in 28 shifting to 3rd on the G.

I notice you are taking the slur out of the first couplet of 21 and 23

+Raymond Monath Actually I'm taking out the slurs for the entire measure of 21 and the same for 23. I think it's more elegant that way and also easier violinistically. But certainly you can do it the way it's printed.

Mr. Sonne...question in 25 and so forth the grace note couplet falls on the down beat (first downbeat) and does not anticipate the beat correct?

It could go either way. My preference would be before the beat.
