Brilliant video, same as how we were taught to do it, but I remember something about putting a part pause in so the part can be stop n go checked or measured on long multipart runs, I'm trying to remember (as it was about 20 years ago) how the machine knew that the bar had run out and didn't try to perform an operation on a piece that was only held in the jaws by a few thou or a mil or two.

First of all: Many thanks for creating this channel. Very useful for a tyro CNC machinist like myself. I have a bit of past experience with a T-2 control but I now have my own QT6T with a Fusion 640 control. There is no bar feed interface on the machine so I need to use this option and I'm very grateful for the programming example. I don't have a bar gripper so will either need to make or purchase one or alternatively use the parting tool to pull the bar out. I will mainly be turning small diameter brass fittings, so the bar will not be that heavy and I suspect the parting tool might be OK for pulling the bar. I guess time will tell.

Great video's as usual. Its interesting to see how machinist do programs different. I have always done the bar pull at start of program. Copied sequence from another old program and modify pull length only. This way the cut off operation doesn't get messed up by accident. Atleast for me it would be accident. Thanks again for the great video's. Where were you when i started learning long long (1987) ago because this would have been so much help. I had to learn from the mazak manuals and that was tough going.

I only have 40 amps output at 245 volts 3 phase
@mazatroltipsandtricks68165 жыл бұрын
You would definitely need to reduce the spindle acceleration parameters with only 40 amps available. This is a different process vs mine depending on the year of your machine and which spindle drive it has installed. My machine has an FR-SE spindle drive in it. On this old drive, you are merely changing the position of some micro DIP switches on the drive control board. I don't know the procedure if you have a newer FR-SF spindle drive. For more help, go to the Mazak forum on PracticalMachinist.com/vb/mazak/ and start a new thread about your machine and what controller it has on it.

we have an old mazak qt 15 m 1995 T-plus and we have 380 volts and 20 amps Its just running parts XD, we have connected an ampere meter and It Is just with the acceleration to max rpm It uses 60 amps but thats not for a long time normally only 16 amps when turning. btw we are trying to get more amps haha.
