Mazda 3 2020 - POV Mountain driving

Hi 2MeterMan here.
In this video I'm having some fun with the Mazda3 Skyactiv-X 2020.
Driving the beautiful roads in Tirol area (Austria).
Filmed with the Insta360 1inch mod.
Decent camera but the microphone on that thing is horrible :)
I might consider some night driving in the city as well, let me know what you find interesting to see and i might shoot it!

So i've created a night driving video, but the microphone on the Insta360 One R sounds very off. i'm ordering a new external mic and hope to be able to shoot something cool in Rotterdam soon.

hi, what are your thoughts about automatical transmission at this mazda ? any problems, lags or something ? is it ok for more dynamic ride, overtaking on highway? Did you use padle shifters ?

Great question! to be fair the automatic is primaribly tuned for efficiency, therfore it shifts up rather fast meaning that when you do need torque it needs to downshift often 2-3 times, this takes a lot of time when going from cruising to overtaking. its something i needed to get used to because it requires the driver to anticipate more than you are probably used to. if you want to drive it more sporty, the "Sport" mode is sufficient, it keeps the engine revved higher and greatly increases response at the cost of some extra petrol (not too much, but noticeably more). In day to day driving i wont find myself needing to padle shift, i only do it when i drive a fun road. To me this car is the perfect comprimise between Fun and daily.

Do you think this is a quite car (cabin) while driving. ?Are you satisfied with the power the engine is giving (not only at high rev but normal driving ?

The Cabin is a very nice place to be in, I own an BMW i4 now, but still am longing back to the more classic interior of the Mazda 3. I do think the Skyactiv-X 180HP engine is missing some torque in the lower end, a turbo would be nice.

@@2metermanYT Not judging you but just giving an advice, take your hands at 9:15 as long as you can, then if the corner is really sharp you can move them to close the corner. Because i've seen couple of times in your video that you almost invaded the other lane

Highway on cruisectrl around 6L/100Km (130km/h) but combined avg is around 7, i do some city driving as well and this car is'nt efficient in the city especially not with the automatic.

it's possible to turn it off but if you want it can keep the music on, another option is to simply let it display a digital or analog clock.

Hey, how do you fit in the mazda 3? Are you really 2m tall? Since I am a bit over 2m, it would be awesome to get some feedback if this car is suitable for my height :) Nice video!

I'm exactly 2m tall and i fit this car very well. i suppose it depends on your leg/body ratio, I do have little room to spare between my head and the roof, therefore I'd not recommend the sunroof option.

@@2metermanYT I see, thx for your answer! I would say my body/leg ratio is 50:50, but it is hard to find a good compact car if you are over 2m 😄 How about the leg room?

@@roydiggerhund3270 i'm really happy with the chair, it has lumbar support and the legroom is great. i have to say that i'm used to drive smaller cars so this is really luxury for me. why don't you just visit a Mazda dealer for a testdrive? the second hand market is getting better and better. let me know how it was. i'm really curious how other tall people experience this car.

Its the 180HP 2L skyActiv-X automatic, it’s my daily. But for these roads I prefer manual :-)

Honestly, if you don't have to drive a lot of heavy stop-go traffic, take the manual. it's more fun and Mazda makes really good manuals.

I agree, i drove it with a manual also(Volkswagen Golf 3 1.8) its a lot of fun too! but my daily driver is an automatic as you can see :)

So wie du deine Arme auf dem Steuer in den Kurven kreuzt, wirst du irgendwann den netten Schlitten in einer bösen Kurve verlieren...gefährliche Fahrweise, wo hast du sowas denn gelernt?
