Smart not going too deep into the reliability of your BMW, fanboys would ignore everything else and focus on that. Back to the Mazda 3, here in the US we currently get the 2.5l engine with 186 bhp/186 tq which is far from underpowered in a.car this small, but next year when the turbo arrives I'll give it serious consideration to replace my 2016 GTI. The Mazda will have a bit more HP and a lot more torque (320 ft lbs) than the GTI, and with the looks and usual Mazda handling chops..I see no reason why it cant outclass the MK7 GTI...which is all we get until the MK8 arrives late next year. I'm really not sold on the looks of the MK8 Golf, so this decision may be easy.

New Mazda 3 turbo is coming in 2021! It has already been announced. Some say it might be the rebirth of Mazdaspeed3. However, in terms of horse power I think Mazda made it clear they are aiming at being "luxury brand" rather than sports car. 120 horse power is enough to be a city driver + efficiency. Great video guys. Car is amazing btw

Sadly as a Mazdaspeed owner I think the platform is dead. Mazda is only doing the turbo version less power then the old speed engine, due to sales of the 3 being awful. It's a rush job in hopes the turbo can help sales but they priced themselves out if the market.. keep the CX-5 or CX-9 as luxury even the 6 but leave the 3 as a good value compact car and bring a real speed back.

Why would you want 2.0L? I drove 2.5 Mazda3 2023 and it s a crime those idiots at Mazda did to thia car. Slow and lazy gearbox and flat and lack of power at bottom end. You will be constantly keep up the high rev in yiur 2.0 engine at the expense of yiur fuel consumption great idea those idiots at Mazda consider to slow start the power so old lady can drive and save fuel hey! Now I compare with my other car Hyundai i30 N-line turbo which gives instant acceleration and the fuel figure still beat the 2.5L Mazda at the end of thwndrive sadly. Well if yiu want a nice interior but drive like an old lady the take this car. But there are other better cars than this car if you want funs and practical

IMO Mazda 6 is a brilliant Family car. Huge rear/boot space. Don't think it is comparable if you want to get more Car from your purchase (space/engine size). But looks and technology its Mazda 3 hands down!

It's actually a torque converter transmission. Skyactive is not talking about transmission but the whole system including transmission, car body, structure, engine and etc

@@leoo5627 yes exactly as they said, also mazda peoples themself when they introduce this "hydramtic", their objective is to combine best or compromise of 3 transmission categories: hydramatic, cvt, and dualclutch. This skyactiv drive lockup at any speed >8kmh and it feels so direct like manual. At this stage, any slighest input of ur throttle, will followed by speed simultaneously with zero slip unlike any other hydramatic in the market. Thats why skyactiv-drive feels so direct unlike any other.

Previous Mz 6 had Bose systems too which many still changed out and after the audio shops dismantle them, you can see that they are MIC unlike the Audi ones. Not sure about these new Mz 3 though.

Great looking car, except the engine. If only Mazda can offer an engine with more power (Small TC engine will be enough). The price with that engine just doesn't match up.

Mazda wants to go premium but their engine performance can't match. Only thing Mazda lacks is a more powerful engine. Even it's 2.0 litre is only on par with some rivals 1.6 litres.

@@CarLifeSG The turbo variant which is 2.5 litre will be quite a hard seller here but of course it will be great if Mazda Singapore would make the 2.0 litre model available or skyactiv X available in near future. Otherwise, the performance is the only letdown of this Mazda 3, which is near a perfect all rounder.

On the outside it looks like a 200+ hp hot hatch but in reality it has a 1.5, 120hp, FWD, torsion beam, automatic. What a huge mismatch. This gen is a poor execution by Mazda. No offense but the original wheels look better.

Yeah, just wanted to doll up the car, and that was pretty much all that matters.... It's a slow car, thoroughly emphasized throughout the entire video. It can be painful to drive if you're already used to driving faster cars. Again it's unfortunate Singapore only offers the 1.5 Engine
