this seems quite easy and fast. A garage just offered me this job - 2hours!!! I think i'll do it myself.

Surface rust on my caliper bolt heads has reduced them to somewhat less than 14mm but more than 13mm. I can't budge them for fear of deforming the heads even more. I have penetrating oil soaking overnight, in hope that they'll shift a bit easier tomorrow morning. Roadsalt, ya gotta love it!

Ok so actually, you replaced an OEM bearing assembly with another bearing assembly. I'm such a cheapskate that this bothers me. How possible is it to instead, repair the original bearing assembly, by pressing out the old bearing race and pressing in a new one? Thanks.

Capi Berra I haven’t done it on this one, but I have done it that way on a few Honda’s. Generally you have to heat the bearing red hot with a torch to get it out. It’s much easier to do it this way even though it costs more.

For me buying the whole assembly was cheaper than the bearing itself which was odd to me

great video, but one question, how can you work with those giant gloves on your hands? the other thing is that the 2 screws that are on the rotor, i take them off and then go to Ace and get the same ones but instead of being a phillips, it has a Hex Key.

Grateful aya I love those gloves. They are overpriced but they fit great so I can do some pretty detailed stuff with them. I never put those bolts back in. The wheel holds it in place, but I bet the hex heads won’t strip as easily.

Looks like this will fit the 2005 ford focus! I'm going to the junk this weekend to test this!!!

Is this the same as a 09-12 Mazda 6
@ventregarage30025 жыл бұрын
Chris Cronin I’m not sure. I can’t imagine it would be much different.

Seems like you could have just decomposed the caliper and taken the bracket with the caliper out without taking the pads or anything out
