The presence this car has is absolutely intense. When you see the 787B show up to watch the race, like “yeah I won this before” you know, as a driver, you have to perform your best. Just seeing that car makes you want to try and outrace its legacy. Sad that it can’t compete anymore, because I guarantee it would still absolutely dust most of the cars today.😂 that thing revved up so quickly and got up to speed like a rocket, unless all Le Mans cars go electric, this thing can probably still beat at least 50% of the cars today.

@@Kierenstanden-qz7eu yes they had to run at 1000kg minimum which meant 100kg of ballast, the Mazda was limited to only 870 at Le Mans because they said they couldn't build a viable car with the added weight... Completely true of course because their results were awful up to that point and particularly so given they were sprint races not requiring longevity.

@@ROT4RYfc3s First of all, not specificaly the roatry engines banned, it was an overall engine regulation, and it was known before that season, so mazna knew that that year is their last shot with rotary. Second, the 787b was slow. It only won because all of the faster cars are got eliminated. Sure, the car looks good, sounds good, and its an icon, but that doesn’t mean that this a good car🤡
