Thanks Tony! I think I’m ready to get back out and shoot now that my base camp is almost done! 😁

Nice to see your back. Yes its a learning curve doing a conversion. But it will be worth it in the end. One day you'll find yourself in a beautiful location with a gorgeous sunrise or set drinking a cup of coffee and saying to yourself look at that van. I did that. And then you'll get in and have a great comfortable sleep. Yup thats what it's all for. Just moments like that. Keep at it pam. It won't be long till it's done. Then look out Heaton and the other boys. Pamela and Nevis are hitting the road. Oh yeah. Lol

That is exactly what is keeping me going, the thought of waking up somewhere stunning with a camera and a coffee. Bliss.

This is really helpful. I want to do this to my van...... I have a rear facing middle seat and runners....... I am so scared about cutting the wood to fit! I know I probably need to take all the seats out..... putting it all off! You are an inspiration! Thank you
@PamelaMarshall3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I’m hindsight, I would take the seats out, just for extra clearance and space whilst you work. I hope it all works out the way you want it, it’s daunting at first but turned out to be really fun to do!

Hi. Well done on laying the vinyl. Yours is the only video I’ve found where people have the rails in the floor. Did you just cut round the rails in the floor as you were laying the vinyl?
@PamelaMarshall3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I left about 3cm of vinyl around the rails then tucked them under and trimmed any excess.

Lovely job fair play, bought a ford freda 2 weeks ago and the interior needs doing on it. Had it cheap cause of the welding needed which ive done myself. I own a garage and can weld, seats and carpet are rough so this is my next job.
@PamelaMarshall3 жыл бұрын
That’s half the battle if you can work on it yourself, my front seats are pretty rough too mine was used as a works van before I bought it, I’m sure yours will be shining in no time!

Well, your feart of nothing hen. A vehicle is always a learning process. I took my running board off a couple of months ago because the foam in the footwell felt like it was covering a hole, still to get it back in place properly as I didn't want to break the plastic lugs in the baltic weather. As I don't get in the passenger side I'd forgotten about it. Thanks, job for tomorrow! I was up the Duke's Pass yesterday, having a wee daunder down the Three Loch's Drive before it was re-opened to vehicles. If I'd seen you I would have said hello. Aberfoyle was busy so I didn't stop. Glad to see you back to vlogging. Take care.

Hi Iain! I noticed the three Lochs sign closed when I was there, gutted I was dying to drive down it! Been too long! I’ve started another to do list for the van, just wee things but it’s all getting it back to its former glory! 😊

@@PamelaMarshall I used to have a Mitsubishi Delica 4WD 8 seater. Wished I still had it but it was a luxury I really didn't need. My family grew up and spending holidays with Dad is so uncool. I was up at Meikle Reive hillfort today, just above Lennoxtown, sweltering. Lovely views but not the best photographic weather.

The delicas are robust wee vans too! I was in Milton of Campsie today getting my step count up! 😊

@@PamelaMarshall Funnily enough, I did look out for your van as I was driving along there, as I know you're a southsider. If I do see you I'll say hello as we're both knocking around the same area, probably doing the same thing.

Talented and practical lady. Good job done. Are you having any cabinets for storage etc. Good luck with your wheels. By the way, nice to have you back.

I cant wait to rip out the gross carpet in my new (to me) 1995 Bongo. The previous owners must've had several dogs as the fur is completely ingrained despite 2 full days of industrial vacuuming. It'll be a winter task for me to change over to vinyl flooring. Also I'm so impressed with your paintwork on the front bumper! Makes me feel like I should give that a go on the scratches on mine
@PamelaMarshall3 жыл бұрын
Aw no dog hair is a nightmare to get off, I would just replace the flooring too 😂 it makes such a difference, feels like a new van now. Mine is a 1995 too, the bumper was not too bad to do, just loads of prep!
@HerbieRey3 жыл бұрын
@@PamelaMarshall it's the worst! I've managed to get rid of the smell though thankfully! Your new vinyl floor makes the van look brand new - I'll definitely be doing it after a summer of mucky boots destroying the already grim carpet. I think mine is the exact model you have - bull bar and all!
@PamelaMarshall3 жыл бұрын
Aw twins! 😊 if you can, take the seats out but leave the runners in, will make it so much easier! I’ve got a 3 inch bruise from when Nevis bit me after I wrestled with the seat bolts 😂
@Mrfatfingerz Жыл бұрын
AHH same. Only had the bongo a few weeks. Previous owners must have masked the smelly carpet when I brought it. A few weeks in and it smells awful. Don't want to know what's been on the carpet 😂
@HerbieRey Жыл бұрын
@@Mrfatfingerz ripping out the carpet and putting down ply and vinyl was the best decision I made with my Bongo and easier than it seemed. I'd really recommend switching, the smell will be gone!

So.... Thomas Heaton has built himself a van and you are building yourself a van. The only other KZbin photographer from that area of the world I subscribe to is Kim Grant. Can you tell her it's time she got herself a van too?
