I am trying to replace the PCV valve on a 2018 CX-5 2.5L and can't find it. Where is it ?

@@MrAdff i was working on a 2017 Mazda 3, but it seems they have identical engines. The PCV valve is underneath the intake manifold, just below the fuel rail. When pulling out the manifold, be mindful there will be a small hose that connects the PCV valve to the manifold.

This video is very good. I was looking for a video that showed better closeups of the electrical connectors and how to undo them. Still not sure on some of them. Once you have the intake off, it's a perfect time for cx-5 owners to decarbon the valves especially if you have 50k miles or more. Might as well, you've done most of the work already. Im getting hesitation on my '14 cx5. New spark plugs, oil changes every 4k 0-20 FSyn. just changed AFM sensor... After reading up mazda247 forum, I think this is my next place to troubleshoot.. hesitation on startup, when we stop at lights, or occasionally when asking for light to moderate acceleration.

@@juanjmolina Investigate secondary ignition/coil packs. I have had some stubborn issues over the years with this. I had brand new Mazda OEM plugs fail after only a year. Swapped them for NGK (who is also the manufacture of the OEM ones) and the hesitations resolved. Same thing when I replaced a bad coil pack. It tested fine with a multimeter, but the car just didn't like it. I took it to a mechanic who had another one laying around. Swapped it again, and all good. Also, using premium gas has cleared up random hesitation issues I used to have while driving. I know modern engines are designed so that 87 octane can be used with higher compression ratios, but after driving it for 8 years, there is no doubt my '13 is far happier with 93.

Top man.Thank you for detailes commentary.I did just replace knock sensorwhich was faulty. Removing coolant reservoir is very helpful tip you gave. I did replace sensor and 4x manifold gasket,bolt up all together and cleaned up engine bay within 2,5h. Garage wanted tonns of money just for sensor. Bright day robbery.

Fantastic video! Only suggestion I can make/request is additional info regarding installation. I would like such info as bolt installation torque values and use/don't use Loctite thread locking compound. Before beginning do I need to purchase new manifold to engine gaskets or can I reuse the existing one's. Thanks for a great video

Lifesaver- this is the same instructions to remove the intake manifold and replace the knock sensor in 2014 mazda 3's also.

The left connector of the manifold , how did you remove it? I’m having trouble removable my mines. Never mind I got it, on the 2016.5 model the squeeze thing is at the bottom. By fingers it’s difficult. I had to use needle nose pliers 😂

I have taken everything out but the part of the wiring harness connected to fuel pressure sensor to the fuel injector rail. How did you disconnect? it wont budge for me
