You can just slide your hand under or unclip the rubber flaps on the side of the engine bay too hahah been doing it that way in my cx-5 13plate. Takes seconds too do.

Great video! Thank you for that! I have a 2015 Mazda CX-5 and wanted to replace one of the low-beam headlights. Your video is the first video I've seen where the low beam bulb component looks like mine. All the others show just the bulb and the connector, but yours looks like mine with that bigger component. Went to a few auto shops and they said they couldn't do it and told me I had HID bulbs which they don't usual stock and are more labor intensive to replace. Ended up having to schedule an appointment with a Mazda dealership, but just in case do you have a video on how to replace those low-beam bulbs?

Did you ever figure it out? I think I have the HID setup as well and can't find anything useful online

I replaced the high and low beam HID bulbs and did them both from the top. It is awkward but can be done and I am no mechanic! The trick with the low beams was to pull the cable off the globe first because it has to be done 1 handed. Dumb design from Mazda...
