Unfortunately, this fuse is a part of the entire wiring harness of the engine. The harness costs about $1200 to replace, but the fuse itself is worth $10-$15 bucks. You have to cut the old fuse and refuse the new one onto the positive terminal, then your issue should be fixed !

Btw, Mazda 3 from 2006-2009 all use a 150 amp fuse, anything more is overkill and you don’t need it

You showed perfectly what could cause Mazda not to start and crank and i have exactly same problem. 😄👍 oh by the way i forgot. this situation like car don't start in my case it happens once in a while and prevents me from starting the car. Then i let the car sit and one hour later it is back to normal all by itself. I think something in starter or battery to starter circuit is heat sensitive so opens the continuity from battery to starter and once it cools off then car starts. again this does not happen all the time but every now and then

Bro thank you. Had same problem. The mechanic asked me $180 just for labor to replace my starter. After I watched your video, I fix it myself. It was just a bad connection pass the terminal fuse. It only costs me $2.70 to fix it.

Is the fuse located in the fuse panel box under the hood, or in the black box connected to the wire he is pointing at @ 4:20?

-99 MAZDA 626 starter Drains battery new ones plus Alternator new kills battery why ? Need a ground added to starter to metal bracket net to STARTER ? Let’s check or will do a substitute for > relay wire from Alternator to starter 10 gauge wire with metal lops going to screws - the one 2 gauge to Battery which side in all of this?? My protege five was low on oil and I unknowingly went for a drive on a hot day, I think It cause overheating but the same issue is similar as the engine will not turn over now. Its possible I seized the engine but I'm curious if the issue is something smaller like a valve or starter issue. I'm close to just selling the car but its moded and It would be a shame if the engine wasn't sized but a cheaper problem. I'm open to all suggestions and help thanks

I wish I had found this video sooner. I'm trying to help my younger brother get his first car. He is getting married and now has a baby on the way. Its complicated but my brother grew up without both parents. We are half siblings. I watched him be born when I was 16 and was like a 3rd parent to him for the first few years of his life. Anyway...….The story behind the car is complicated so I'll skip that part. So, I just paid a $550.00 towing and storage bill for this car and then paid $503.00 for a starter replacement. The labor was high due to something being bent and it took much longer to get the work done because it was harder to get to the starter. Or, they fed me a bunch a bull and over charged me. It is what it is I guess. After watching this video I now wonder if a simple fuse replacement might have done the trick. I'm kind of sick now. Oh well onward and upward I guess. I will get this car lined out one way or another thought I do wish I knew someone who understood how to work on cars. Great video. I like how you keep it short and simple.

Can you guys do a vid explaining 09' CX-7 liftgate stuck, wont open even with emergency release. That's where I'm at right now. Replaced car battery recently and it worked, then failed so I replaced keyfob battery and no go. Tried putting weight on hatch then press to open and nada. When opening emerg cap and press open either on door lock switch or remote you can see the cam move slightly. I dont really want to pry too much and break the emerg release. Thanks for the help

You are fantastic bro! Have a question. My cx7 2008, is making a krrrrrrr sound every now and then when the AC is turned on. I have taken it to a few mechanics here in Dakar and they tell me that it's the Compressor. Some people tell me I have to change the Compressor, condenser and the AC line because the carbon may effect the new Compressor if I only change that. What do you propose? Your expert advice is much appreciated

Check Mazda out, may have to buy the whole wire assembly. That is a VERY high amperage fuse, don't want to do a hack splice of a generic fuse into a thick wire like that that can heat up pretty quick. Check out some auto parts store as well, they may have diagrams for that wire with fuse. Not a long wire so can't be that expensive.

Dude, such an obvious fix... always always check all electrical connections first (fuses, connectors etc for corrosion/good contact and also check you have proper ground) before going on to the bigger stuff like you did.. thinking it's the starter motor and/or taking the engine apart LOL

Most cars don't bother with any fuse, so wire it up direct to the battery terminal. Or improvise your own fuse by bridging the blown element with a 200Amp wire bridge

Hey guys I’m having an issue on my speed 6 where it won’t crank won’t start , so l looked over my fuses in the inside of the car on the bottom left driver side and found to “ ENGINE IG” 15A fuse was blown. I replaced it tried to crank it and it cranked over but didn’t turn on . Went to try again and the “ENGINE IG” 15A fuse was blown again so I put in a 30A fuse to see what would happen and I was able to crank it a couple times but still nothing. So I just put the 15A fuse back and it’s just sitting in the driveway now. What should I do?

My 2010 CX-7 has 302,000 and takes me to work, 75 miles round trip, every day. Yesterday was the same, except when I got in it to go home, I all I got was "Click". Checked the terminal connections. No corrosion. Oh! They're a little loose! Tightened them. Try again, "Click". My battery is probably good. It's only 1 year old. But a good Samaritan has jumper cables. Same thing. Nothing but "Click." Crap! Where's the starter? Maybe the bendix is stuck. I can smack it a couple times with a wrench. Maybe it'll loosen up...Oh, its up front, underneath the intake manifold. Hard to reach from above but, "Tap, tap, tap". Try again! "Click." Hmmm, maybe the Neutral safety switch? Jiggle the steering wheel, stomp the brake pedal, cycle the gear shifter from Park to L a few times. Try again, "Click." I'm out of ideas. Time for KZbin! Found you Russian dudes! Fuse to the starter? Hmmm, I wondered what that black thing was. Where's my meter? Got continuity, uh-oh. What now? Decisions, decisions... assume nothing. Check battery voltage: 12.45vdc= Awesome. Maybe, just maybe that big, 'ol chunky fuse is only partially blown? Chop it off! Splice in a scrap piece of motor lead using a split bolt, Old-school Electrician style! Try again: "IGNITION COMPLETE!" Thanks Russian dudes! If not for your video, my car would still be broken. I really appreciate your video!

hey, love your vids. I live in NYC. The mechanics are horrible and incompetent. I have a mazda 3 2015 with 190K miles on it. For about 1 year now the car starts fine when it's cold but once warm it will crank but not start. It usually takes 2 or 3 attempts to start it when it's warm. The battery is fine. Any thoughts?

@@aroundthewaygarden1132 No. I haven't really taken it to anyone to take a good look at the issue. Just been dealing with the issue as is. I've also had to fix a lot of other things as well like wheels/struts, etc, etc so I'm holding off. One mechanic did say it could be a problem with the signal from the key fob to the ignition switch. Maybe computer related. Sometimes I'll try to start it in the ACC mode and it seems to work better but not always. I'm at 200K miles now so just trying to milk it to about 250k.
